CTC #471 - CASE A Sketch From Page 22

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking inspiration from the sketches on page 22 of the Annual Catalogue. If you aren't sure what this means, at the bottom of page 22 of the Annual Catalogue there are 22 images of card layouts, or sketches.  These are a great place to start if you are stuck for ideas.

This is a look at just that section of the page.  These sketches are all for portrait orientated cards, but that's ok, it is easy enough to take one of these layouts and just make it in landscape orientation instead. That's what I have done this week.

I chose this sketch, I mentally number these 1 to 22 right to left, top row then bottom row, so this one is sketch #3.

I love how this card turned out, and it was very simple to make.  I wanted to have a striking combination of black, gold and white, and was initially just going to have the flowers in black and white, but I decided on a pop of colour and am pleased with that decision.  The panels are cut from one half of a card from the Brushed Gold Cards & Envelopes pack, I flipped the middle one's orientation to add more interest to the card. Some black twine and Matte Black Dots finished off this striking card.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use the sketches on page 22to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.

CTC #470 - CASE The Colours of Frames & Flowers DSP

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking inspiration from the beautiful colours in the Frames & Flowers DSP pack. There are a lot of colours in this DSP so you need to choose at least four of them for this challenge.

I was inspired To use Lost Lagoon, Soft Sea Foam, Petal Pink, Pumpkin Pie, and Early Espresso; as well as the other colours in the die cut piece from the DSP pack!

For this card I started out with one of the wreath pieces from the Frames & Flowers Specialty DSP. This is such an unusual DSP pack as it includes three sheets of DSP and 3 sheets of pre-cut die cut designs.  I added to this with flowers from Poised Peony, which doesn't seem to match the botanical pieces in the DSP, but it does coordinate beautifully.  The sentiment is from Heartfelt Hexagons.

You can see from this side angle that I have built up lots of layers which the photographs really don't fully capture. The flowers are adhered with Multipurpose Glue by their stems, and then have Dimensionals under the heads of the flowers which I have curled up slightly.  The lovely ribbon is part of Petal Pink & White 1/4" Diagonal Trim.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use at least four (4) of the colours in the Frames & Flowers Specialty DSP to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.

Time to hop on over and see what Andrea has created this week.

ESAD Annual Catalogue Blog Hop

Welcome to the ESAD Annual Catalogue Blog Hop, it has been a while since I joined in one of these, so I was excited for the opportunity to showcase some of the lovely new products in the 2024-2025 Annual Catalogue. Whether you are starting from my blog, or have come from Tracey's blog, all you need to do is follow the links at the bottom of each post to jump to the next blog.  Time to grab a cuppa and enjoy the hop.

One of the things I love about the new catalogue is the ideas for card layouts that can be found on page 22.  There are 22 of these and I have made up templates for each of them out of retired cardstock with the sketch number and measurements of the elements of the card on the back.  This is sketch 21 and I decided to use this to base my card on, I have embellished mine with a few die cuts.

I chose the gorgeous Unbounded Beauty Suite Collection for the majority of the card elements. The different patterns of DSP coordinate so well together and there are some beautiful colours in this suite.   The botanical elements behind the sentiment are cut from the Unbounded Love Dies, and the flowers stamped on the base card are from the Flowers of Beauty stamp set. That's right this suite has two stamp and die bundles!  The sentiment comes from Simply Said, a stamp set that is part of the Quick & Easy section of the catalogue, this is a really good basic stamp set with typed and cursive scripts.  The circles are cut with Spotlight on Nature Dies.
I have decorated the inside of the card simply with one of the floral images on the card base, this time using Berry Burst.  Adding some soft colour with my Blending Brushes and a thin strip of DSP is such an easy yet effective way to show the inside of the card a little love.   I plan to add this floral image to the envelope as well.

I hope you like my project, if so please leave me a comment.  Time now to hop on over to Leonie's blog to see what she has been inspired to create from this lovely new catalogue.

If you get lost on the hop, here is a list of all the blog participants:

CTC #468 - CASE The New Catalogue

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to
our Facebook page.
This week we are taking inspiration from the brand new Annual Catalogue available to purchase from 1 May.  This catalogue is a little different, but there are still lots of projects to inspire as well as a great section on various techniques.

I was inspired by this card from page 91 of the catalogue.  This card uses the stamp set we got as an all attendee give away at our recent On Stage event, and I immediately thought about fussy cutting the various leaves on the stamp even before I saw this card.

I kept my card pretty close to the original, changing up some of the colours and the sentiment on my version.  It was actually quite relaxing to fussy cut the leaves and I have lots left over for another project.  I don't think the camera photographed the colours particularly well, I used Peach Pie, Shy Shamrock and Summer Splash for my leaves and card base, and Basic Beige for the sentiment circle.

I used some of the stamped image to make a faux DSP strip and a couple of the spare leaves to decorate the inside of the card.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use any of the projects in the 2024-25 Annual Catalogue to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.

Time to hop on over and see what Andrea, one of our new Design Team members has created this week.
