CTC #262 - Week 2 - CASE the Koala

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. This week we are taking our inspiration from this cute little koala card on page 34 of the Mini Occasions Catalogue.

Here is a look at the basic sketch of the card, your's doesn't have to be exact, but used as a guide to your card.

I was inspired to use the lovely Peaceful Poppies suite ... again!  I just love these poppies. I have used a couple of new elements from the suite though, the cute little headers on the outside panels is cut using one of the dies, and the bright ribbon was achieved by coloruing the Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding with a Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends marker.  Once I had made the panels I decided they looked to crisp and white so splattered some Poppy Parade and Granny Apple Green on them in line with the DSP.  I was really happy with how this turned out, what do you think?

CTC #261 - Blue Butterflies

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. This week we are taking our inspiration from the projects in the Sale-A-Bration Catalogue, and what a catalogue it is this year. I always get excited for SAB, it is the best time in the Stampin' Up! year with the ability to earn amazing products for free. This year the offerings are amazing, with stamp sets, framelits, embossing folders, punches, kits, embellishments and stunning Designer Series Paper! If you don't already have a demonstrator message me to get your copy.

I was inspired by this image from page 12, I was flicking through looking at the projects and the cute way the main panel on this card has been punched to create a notch for the ribbon really caught my eye.

I decided to move away from the soft pretty colours of the original and used one of the deeper coloured sheets of DSP from the Perennial Essence collection. The stamped images are from Butterfly Gala and Beauty Abounds stamp sets from the Annual Catalogue, stamped in Night of Navy and Blackberry Bliss. The cute ribbon is from the Mini Catalogue and is originally white but coloured with Night of Navy Blends pen, I love how it keeps it's crinkle look even when coloured. You are going to see much more of this cute ribbon on my projects in coming weeks.

CTC #260 - Lovely Lilies

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. This week we are taking our inspiration from the projects in the new 2020 Mini Catalogue, just pick any of the amazing projects to inspire your own creation then post a picture of it on the CTC Facebook Page.

I was inspired by this image from page 24 of the catalogue, I have been trying to use my DSP more often rather than hoarding it and I think this is why this card stood out to me. I also like that the sentiment is present but that the flower is more of a feature on the card.

For my project I decided to use the Lily Suite of products from the Sale-A-Bration Catalogue rather than the Peaceful Poppies Suite used in the original.  I love that in the SAB you can earn framelits, stamp set, and DSP that all coordinate perfectly together.  I stamped the sentiment in Versamark and embossed with White Embossing Powder to make the sentiment pop. The paper piecing on the die cut lily was a little fidley but I love how the Lovely Lipstick and Melon Mambo go together and create the background to the lily stamped in the same colours.

This is a very special stamp set as the photo-polymer stamps are reversible, meaning you can stamp the lined image in one colour, then clean and turn the stamp over to add a solid colour of a similar shape.  The images are not designed to line up perfectly but work really well with the impressionistic patterns on the DSP.
