CASE-ing The Catty #4 - Wedding

Welcome to another week of CASE-ing the Catty Challenges, this week we are taking inspiration from the Wedding section of the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue.  In the South Pacific region that is pages 60 to 71.  Joining in is easy, just have a look at those catalogue pages and take inspiration from one, or more, of the projects. You can pick a card or 3D item, a stamp set or just take a sketch or colour combo. Then upload a link to your creation at CASE-ing the Catty blog.

I took inspiration from the cute little Gift Card Enclosure Packs on page 66.  These are great, and so quick and easy to decorate. As an added bonus they already have slits inside for you to actually put a gift card!  This would be perfect to pop in a couple's Wishing Well.  I have used my new favourite colour Blackberry Bliss paired with Gold on this project to give it a beautiful rich look.  The Gift Envelope has been stamped with the Work Of Art heart stamp to give it a lift.  The belly band is made from cardstock layered with the luscious new Gold Satin Ribbon, and stamps from both Chalk Talk and Label Love - you can see how easy this would be to adjust for other occasions.

Because I loved this colour combo so much I decided to CASE my CASE and make a card to match!

I hope my creations have inspired you to join in this week, remember it doesn't have to be a wedding project, just take inspiration from the Wedding section of the catalogue.

Triple Challenge Card

Recently I have had the urge to update/upgrade my craft space, and today is the first real chance I have had to play in it since the makeover so I wanted to make the most of it and join in three challenges at once!  Friday Mashup challenge to use spring theme or colours; Just Add Ink challenge to add Layers; and Freshly Made Sketches for the sketch.

I was initially going to use by Beautifully Baroque stamp in the left hand panel, but decided I wanted to use my new Happy Watercolour instead.  I love the way that this turned out, and how easily it makes 'colouring' an image!  Colours are Crushed Curry and Pool Party which go beautifully with the DSP.

I will be posting photos of the revamped craft space soon, I just need to sort it out a bit more.  Most frustrating part is that everything has changed where it lives, I had difficulty finding my camera to take the picture lol.

Starburst Christmas

Don't you just love it when you find a new technique you love, and it's easy too?  For me that is Starburst cards and inking up embossing folders, so it only made sense to put both on the same card!

What do you think of the result?  I changed up the Starburst this time by mirroring the burst, I quite like this way of doing it.  I also just adore the effect of inking up my embossing folder with Cherry Cobbler ink and then just putting the Whisper White in and running my hand over the folder to transfer the ink onto the cardstock.  The sentiment is a combination of the Label Love stamp set and Petite Pairs - I love how versatile Label Love is.

Here is a little tip that I thought I would share:  I have stamped and then used a craft knife to cut out the sentiment of one of the stamps from the Label Love set. I use this to check against sentiments in the catalogue (pic on right) to see which will fit in the space.  With the new wood mount cases it is really easy to store both this template in the sleeve at the back.  I have also stamped a completed image and stored that in the sleeve as well to remind me for next time.

Just Add Daisies

Challenge: Just Add Ink #175

This is my entry in the Just Add Ink sketch challenge this week.  I have wanted to try the Polaroid style since I saw it recently, and this seemed like the perfect opportunity!  I used the Square Framelits to cut the square from the black mat. I don't often brayer, but decided I wanted to give it a go for the background of the 'photo' so used Coastal Cabana at the top and Pistachio Pudding from the bottom before stamping the Upsy Daisy stamp from Best of Flowers.  The sentiment is from Label Love, I used my marker to ink up just the sentiment, it gives even more versatility to this set.   The large pearl is coloured with a black permanent marker to match the theme of the card.

Masculine Birthday

I love having a day off, and one where I actually manage to be quite productive!  For my last card of the day I have used the Sunny Challenges 'Masculine Card' theme with the Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge.

I don't think it is possible for me to do a masculine card at the moment without using Washi Tape and Gorgeous Grunge!!!  They just go so well together, and I love the grungy look of the Label Love birthday sentiment.  In the photo it is a bit difficult to see the second from the top strip of washi tape, because it matches the card stock, however in person it is quite prominent.

To get the little 'skid marks' I used the stamp without a block, folding the stamp in half and just inking up the bend in the middle.

Now I have to head off and tidy my desk after so much creating today!!!

2013 Catalogue Launch

Don't you just love sharing new things with friends?  I had a great afternoon last weekend sharing the new Annual Catalogue with a group of friends.

Part of the fun is the preparation and this year I had the help of my wonderful daughter who prepared a delishious afternoon tea.  She made salted caramel macarons and mini cupcakes.  You might notice on the top of each cupcake is a cute little flower - I made these out of white icing and the new Simply Pressed Mold.  I even tried to colour them to match some of the new In-Colours - they looked so cute.

I wanted to share a cute make n take with the ladies, and prepared this one as a sample.  Unfortunately we go so carried away with the amazing new products we didn't get to make them on the day!!!!  I was able to send the ladies home with a kit each so that they could make them up at home.  This card was inspired heavily from one Marelle Taylor had up on her blog ThinkSpot, I changed the colours a little and added some extra bling and DSP.  I loved the card because it shows of not only the beautiful Mosaic Madness stamp and matching punch, as well as Label Love set and punch.

I hope you have your hands on our new catalogue, there are some truly great products in there, all of which are available to purchase through my online shop.

In-Colour Thank You

ESAD, the online group that organised the recent Blog Hop I was part of has set a monthly card challenge.  Unfortunately it is a closed Facebook group for Stampin' Up! Demonstrators and I can't link up the other creations but wanted to share mine.

This card uses three of our beautiful new In-Colours, new Label Love stamp set and matching punch as well as the very cute Chalk Talk Framelits.  I trimmed down the framelit tag to make it more square by running it through the Big Shot twice.  Sentiment from Itty Bitty Banners, and the flower is made with the wonderful Simply Pressed Clay, coloured by pushing it into the Coastal Cabana stamp pad - you can also colour the clay before you put it in the mold, or use an aqua painter to paint the dried flower (I had misplaced mine on my somewhat messy desk lol).

Annual Catalogue Sneak Peek

Don’t you just love new things?  I know I do.  Today my big brown box from Stampin’ Up!® arrived, yes on a Saturday!!!  I am especially excited because it was full of products from the new Annual Catalogue that goes live in the South Pacific Region on 2nd July.

I have used two of the new stamp sets on this card, the first one is Mosaic Madness and the second is Label Love.  As well has having some really cute images Mosaic Madness has a matching embossing folder and DSP, and both sets have a coordinating punch.  How cool is that – no fussy cutting!!!

I have also used the brand new In-Colour Strawberry Slush (doesn’t that just sound yummy?), you can see it on the DSP and the striped mosaic.
