CTC #534 - CASE A Punch or Die Project

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking inspiration from projects featuring dies or punches.

I was inspired by this card sample that is part of the online exclusives from the online store.

I have recently ordered the Sweet Jar Builder punch and the Jar of Joy Christmas themed coordinating stamp set, so wanted to replicate the original card. I mixed old with new for this card, choosing carrying over Seasons of Elegance DSP and adding in the gorgeous new Traditional Sparkling Sequins and Black & White & Gold Bakers Twine.  These new products are coming out at the beginning of September from the Holiday Mini catalogue and online exclusives. I did change up the colour of my gingerbread as I like mine quite dark so used Pecan Pie and Early Espresso on the two step stamping.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use punch or die projects to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.

Time to hop on over and see what Peta has created this week.

CTC #533 - CASE A Returning Favourite

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking inspiration from the returning favourites in the Annual catalogue, you can find these throughout the catalogue or in particular the returning stamps and dies can be found on pages 98-101. While there aren't samples in these pages there are lots of ideas in the on-line store to inspire your creation for this challenge.

I was inspired by this card from the on-line store here. I love this bundle and was so happy to see it as part of the returning favourites in the current Annual Catalogue.

You can see my card is almost identical to the original, but I did want to change up the colours and make them bolder and I have certainly achieved that goal!  I chose a sheet of the Floral Charm DSP, stamping the floral images onto it in Bubble Bath to achieve a very subtle pattern.  The Main floral image is stamped in Berry Burst and Blackberry Bliss, with the leaves in Granny Apple Green to add a bright pop. It was a great opportunity to add some Brushed Brass Butterflies.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use a sample featuring a returning favourite to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.

Time to hop on over and see what Peta has created this week.

CTC 532 - CASE A Project Featuring Animals

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking inspiration from projects featuring animals.

I was inspired by this card from page 48 of the Annual Catalogue, I liked the layers and little panels on this card, and even though I don't have the Turtley Cute Suite Collection I thought it would be fun to recreate in florals.

I kept with the same general layout as the original, as I often do, but changed up the DSP and stamps, and chose a colour scheme that really isn't my usual combo.  I started with Florals in Bloom DSP and chose two of the greens featured in this, Summer Splash and Shy Shamrock.  While I stamped and coloured the leaves in shades of green I wanted a pop of colour, so stamped the floral image in Petunia Pop and coloured with a variety of Watercolour Pencils. The cute little sentiment is from Blooming Phrases and seemed to tie in beautifully with the botanicals on the card panels.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use any of the projects that feature animals to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.

Time to hop on over and see what Julia has created this week.

Let's Craft Together - Masculine Birthday

Welcome to the monthly Blog Hop by Let’s Craft Together and thank you for joining us. We are a group of multi-cultural Stampin’ Up!® demonstrators in Australia who have developed a strong friendship though our love of stamping and our admiration of each other’s style of crafting.

The challenge this month is to create a masculine birthday card. I have a lot of birthdays in the family that are celebrated in the last half of the year so this was a perfect theme for me.

I have been wanting to use the Beautiful Gallery 6" x 6" DSP pack more and this seemed like the perfect opportunity.  I wanted to make a book fold card, and cut my DSP pieces with this in mind, then sadly couldn't find my A4 Secret Sea cardstock so did a little pivot and created a similar layout on a top opening card. I cut the front panel at 4cm up to the centre fold and then adhered that piece to the base.

The remaining 10.5cm x 10.5cm panel is left as the opening of the card as you can see in this picture. I had wanted to run some linen thread around the card under the sentiment, but unfortunately my linen thread has run off with my Secret Sea cardstock and both are AWOL.

Time to keep hopping around to see what other masculine birthday themed cards the team have come up with this month.
