CTC #454 - CASEing The Sale-A-Bration Catalogue

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking inspiration from the Sale-A-Bration Catalogue.

I recently earned this lovely DSP as a SAB reward (I actually have two packs!)  and so was drawn to this card on page 6.

I don't have the bird stamp from the original project, so fussy cut one of the birds from the DSP, and to give it a stamped look hand drew the thin black line around the edge.  I've never done this before, but I think I will be doing it more often.  My initial version of this card had much less of the Boho Blue base showing, but it needed the framing to look "right", I added some patterning to the card base with a mask and blending brush.  Some additional Crumb Cake sponging around the other DSP layers give it a bit of an aged look.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use any of the projects from the Sale-A-Bration Catalogue to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.

Time to hop on over and see what the lovely Judy has created this week.

CTC #453 - CASE the Bee Mine Section

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking inspiration from the Bee Mine section of the Mini Catalogue, pages 8-13.

This little fellow caught my eye, and the layout is nice and simple without too much going on, but at the same time interesting layers.

I have been working with the Orchid Oasis and Starry Sky recently and thought they would look great with the bird from Poetic Expression and the butterflies from Painted Lavender. I used my blending brush to add colour to the bird image, adding some Berry Burst to the head of the bird. For the background I stamped off the floral image from Thoughtful Expressions.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use any of the projects from pages 8-13 of the Mini Catalogue to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.

Time to hop on over and see what the lovely Judy has created this week.

CTC #451 - CASE The Jan to Apr Mini Catalogue

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking inspiration from the brand new January to April Mini Catalogue that is now available to order from, you can find a link to it on the side column of my blog.

I was inspired by this card from page 43 of the mini catalogue, loving the simple lines of the card.

I was really drawn to this card and its elements so I kept my CASE, at least of the sketch, close to the original.  I did change up the colours and DSP, using Poetic Expressions. I do love the Notes of Nature Bundle, and it's easy to miss the beautiful floral images in this set and this card lets them shine. Don't get me wrong I love the other images too, it's a great bundle.

It makes such a difference when the inside of a card is decorated, even if done simply as iI have done here, with a strip of DSP and a little stamping.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use images from the new January to April Mini Catalogue to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.

Time to hop on over and see what Judy has created this week.

Let's Craft Together Blog Hop - January 2024

Happy New Year and welcome to the monthly Blog Hop by Let’s Craft Together and thank you for joining us. We are a group of multi-cultural Stampin’ Up!® demonstrators in Australia who have developed a strong friendship though our love of stamping and our admiration of each other’s style of crafting.

Each month one of us sets a challenge that we use for the blog hop. This month’s is picture challenge, you can use the image, pattern or colours to create your project. The colours are Bubble Bath, Berry Burst, Blackberry Bliss, Blueberry Bushel, Pecan Pie and Smokey Slate.

I decided to challenge myself to use all of the colours, so as is my process I lay out the ink pads on my desk and started to move them around.  I had an idea that they might work together as a background, so I chose stamps from Notes of Nature, from the new Jan to Apr Mini Catalogue, to go with each of the colours, then started stamping. I did a lot of stamping off as I didn't want the background too bright.  Then to age the piece further I used Blending Brushes to add Bubble Bath and Pecan Pie to the whole piece, darker in some places and lighter in others.

The dies that are part of the Notes of Nature include the cute one I used to create the punched holes down the side of the piece.  Once I had done that I scrunched up the cardstock in my hands a number of times and scraped my finger down the edge.  I added some additional Blending Brush Pecan Pie around the edges.

Looking for a sentiment I thought it would be fun to use part of the "Field Notes" Stamp with the sentiment from Gorgeously Made and layer this over the flora stamps that have been die cut.  I am beyond happy with how this turned out!  Let me know in the comments if you have used your stamps to make a background paper.

I hope you enjoy the rest of the blog hop, just follow the link below:
