CTC #585 - CASE Your Favourite Stamp Set

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. This week we are taking inspiration from our favourite stamp sets in the May to August catalogue.

I was inspired by this card from page 52 of the catalogue, featuring Nature's Symphony a stamp set I have enjoyed using so much, I love the sentiments and the lovely big leafy images.  I am not a fan of the colour scheme of this card so knew I wanted to mix that up in my version of this card. 

For my version of the card I chose the lovely Natures Walk DSP as the background, choosing to distress rather than emboss the middle layer. This is such an effective and easy technique, gently spritz the DSP then crumple up in different directions and then lay it flat. For added effect once it was dry I ran a sanding block over the surface before adhering to my card. I love the colour tones of this DSP pack and they work so well together and with Pecan Pie which I have chosen for my base and sentiment.

CTC #583 - CASE A Bundle

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking inspiration from the bundles in the catalogue, you can find these on pages 36 to 42. I love bundles for two reasons, firstly you get a 10% discount and secondly they stamps and dies coordinate beautifully, taking out one of the friction points when creating a project. 

I chose this card from page 41, I was taken with the simple layout, and it let me use a bundle that I haven't used much at all.  This bundle caught my eye after a wonderful presentation from one of my fellow demonstrators at our On Stage event earlier this year.  This is a bundle that will stay in my stash even after it has retired. 

For my card I used a combination of Pretty Peacock, Lost Lagoon, Crumb Cake, and Pecan Pie, making it a great choice for a more masculine card. However imagine this in pretty pinks and reds for Valentine's day, or bright colours for a fun birthday card.  So versatile!

I had trimmed a little off my front panel so used this on the inside of the card with one of the hearts I had die cut out. Such a simple, yet effective way to carry the images from the front of the card to the inside.
