CTC #366 - Farewell Annual Catalogue 2021 - 2022

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking our inspiration from any of the projects in the 2021-22 Annual catalogue - that's right you can chose your favourite project, technique, colour combo or layout and use it as inspiration for your own creation. Don't forget that you can use any products you have on hand, preferably Stampin' Up! ones of course, but you don't need the ones in the inspiration project.

I was inspired by this image from page 63. I have CASE'd this one once before and I love how simple it is and am so happy that this stamp set is carrying over into the 2022-23 catalogue.

Here is my project which I have changed up a bit from the original, but kept the layout fairly similar. Instead of adding ribbon I used a second layer of DSP, centred the sentiment and added a little bit of bling! The DSP used are from two coordinating packs, Pretty Prints and Sun Prints which is part of the Sun Prints collection. I was drawn to these products when I first looked through the new catalogue, so it seemed fitting to use them to farewell the old one.

CTC #365 - CASE Your Favourite Retiring DSP

This week we are taking our inspiration from the DSP that is retiring from the Annual Catalogue, so that gives us a wide range of options to choose from.

I decided to use the very first DSP that caught my eye and was part of my pre-order for the current catalogue, the Simply Elegant Specialty DSP, this image just doesn't do it justice as one side of each sheet is foiled. The sad thing about this DSP is not only is it retiring, but also that I have barely used it this year! I am not sure if it was "too pretty to use" or if it just didn't suit the projects I was creating, however my project for this week's challenge is the perfect reason to use such elegant DSP ... its to make my daughter's wedding card!

This past week, on 13 April, our beautiful daughter married her Prince Charming in a ceremony that couldn't have been more perfect for the two of them. I don't have many pictures as my focus was on the wedding and we don't have access to the ones from the professional photographer, however my mum took this very photogenically styled photo of their first dance.

This is the front of my Double Display Card with its belly band (just a little crooked!). This is the perfect card to show off the stunning DSP as there are so many little panels that you can add different DSP patterns to.

Here is the card opened up showing more of the panels. I used four stamp sets for the images and sentiments - Forever Fern, Color & Contour, So Sentimental, and Inspired Thoughts. For the first time I realised that the leaf image I used from Forever Fern might not be puffball flowers, but eucalyptus leaves like my daughter used in her table decorations so they were perfect for the card.

Here is the card from the side, so you can see more of the DSP and gold metallic used on the inside panels. I love how the gold reflects and shines. One of the challenges of this card was cutting the DSP so that each panel had the same pattern on the DSP as I thought it was more effective than random sections of the patterns.
