CTC #404 - CASE Mini Catalogue: Country Floral Lane

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogues to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking inspiration from the projects in the Country Floral Lane Suite, pages 8-11 of the mini catalogue.

I was inspired by this card from page 10 of the mini catalogue, I liked the layers and use of DSP in this project.

I don't have any of the products from this suite, and decided to have a break from using the SAB DSP that I've used on my past few cards. I went looking through my DSP stash and realised I hadn't used Sun Prints very much and thought it would be perfect to create a monochromatic version of the original card.  Instead of using the ribbon in the same way I created little folds all along the sentiment strip to give just a hint of the ribbon.
I used a little trick to add dimension to a card with multiple layers.  I wanted to use Dimensionals under these florals, but to do so would have made the card quite bulky under the sentiment and ribbon.  The trick is to use the Dimensionals only at the top of the piece where there are fewer layers, and Tombow on the stems that are tucked under the sentiment.  This gives the illusion that the whole piece is raised.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use any of the samples from the Country Floral Lane suite to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.

Time to hop on over and see what Rebecca has created this week.

CTC #403 - Sale-A-Bration

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking inspiration from any of the lovely projects in the Sale-A-Bration catalogue.

I was inspired by this card from page 10 of the SAB Catalogue. I love the effect of these layered cards so much.

I kept my card very similar to the original, but couldn't help adding some of the Dry Brushed Metallic DSP in the strip under the sentiment. I also coloured the two stamped floral pieces under the sentiment and of course changed out the "Hello" for "Thanks".  I have said it before, but I'll say it again ... I am loving this group of products, it is so great to be able to coordinate pieces so easily.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use any of the samples in the Sale-A-Bration catalogue to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.

Time to hop on over and see what Rebecca has created this week.

CTC #402 - CASE the Jan to Apr Catalogue

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking inspiration from any of the projects in the new Mini Catalogue.

I was inspired by this card from page 8 of the catalogue.  I was drawn to the woven ribbon background and wanted to see if I could create a similar look using DSP.

Here is the card I created. I am pretty happy with the weaving, deciding to add strips of Vellum instead of using all DSP, I think this lightens the panel. The sentiment and dies are from the Fragrant Flowers Bundle, and of course the DSP is from the coordinating Sale-A-Bration Favoured Flowers DSP which you can earn for free with any $90 order.  I particularly love these sheets with the beautiful purple tones of Fresh Freesia and Blackberry Bliss.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use any of the samples in the January to April Mini Catalogue to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.

Time to hop on over and see what Tina has created this week.

CTC #401 - CASE The Sale-A-Bration Catalogue

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking inspiration from the new Sale-A-Bration catalogue.  I am sure you are familiar with Sale-A-Bration but just in case ... its a time of year when Stampin' Up! allows everyone the ability to earn free products with the purchase of $90 of any of their products.

I was inspired by this card from page 7 of the SAB Catalogue.  I liked the idea of fussy cut flowers overlapping a panel on the front of the card.

I wanted to use some of my new products from the January to April mini catalogue, so used the Fragrant Flowers bundle and gorgeous new Dry Brushed Metallic DSP.  I paired these with the Favoured Flowers DSP which is made up of stunning floral images on black backgrounds which make it quite striking.  There are some images on the paper that are able to be cut out using the dies in the Fragrant Flowers bundle. You will see more of these products in upcoming blog posts because I love them!

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use any of the samples in the Sale-A-Bration catalogue to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.

Time to hop on over and see what Tina has created this week.
