CTC #521 - CASE The Colours of Florals In Bloom DSP

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking inspiration from the colours of the Florals in Bloom DSP, Strawberry Slush, Timid Tiger, Darling Duckling, Summer Splash, Secret Sea, and Petunia Pop.

Here are the colours on their own, aren't they bright and summery?

As usual when faced with a colour challenge I got out my six ink pads and started to play around with how the colours might go together.  I decided use water colouring to colour my flower pieces, stamping first in Saddle Brown Stazon, which gives a much more natural finish for organic images compared to the black Stazon.  I paired Strawberry Slush and Petunia Pop; and then Timid Tiger and Darling Duckling to colour the two flowers, and Summer Splash and Darling Duckling on the leaves. The background frame is using a die from the Impressions Abloom bundle embossed with Pressed Flowers Embossing folder all from the Floral Impressions Suite Collection.  I added some Summer Splash to the raised florals with my Stampin' Brayer to make them pop.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use the colours of the Florals in Bloom DSP to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.

Time to hop on over and see what the talented  Rochelle has created this week.

CTC #520 - CASE The May On-Line Exclusives

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking inspiration from the May Online Exclusives, you can find them here.  Each of the products usually have sample projects showing  how they are used.

I was inspired by this card from the Impressions Abloom  Bundle.  I was drawn to the technique of stamping on damp watercolour paper to create the focal panel.

I had fun with this, I used different colours and it was interesting to see how the colours became more or less vibrant with the water depending on the original colour.  Melon Mambo became very vibrant!  Once it was dried I stamped over with the line image to create more definition.  Because of the vibrancy of the Melon Mambo I used my blending brushes to add some of that colour to the DSP piece and am really happy with how this turned out.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use the samples for the May Online Exclusive products to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.

CTC #519 - CASE The Annual Catalogue

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking inspiration from any project in the 2025-26 Annual Catalogue that went live this week.

I was inspired by this card from page 110 of the 2025 Annual Catalogue I only recently tried this technique and love how simple and effective it is.

I chose Soft Seafoam for the base card, and kept with a monochromatic colour palette, using Soft Seafoam, Basic Beige and Lemon Lime Twist for the three colours. The sentiment and flower image are stamped in Secret Sea, as it was less harsh that straight black. For the floral image I stamped off once before stamping over my coloured blocks and love the soft look this achieved. I finished off with some white twine and the clear gems from the Strawberry Slush & Pretty In Pink gems.   Let me know what your favourite easy technique is in the comments.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use the projects in the 2025-26 Annual Catalogue to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.

Time to hop on over and see what the lovely Julia has created this week.
