Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilse the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.
This week we are taking our inspiration from the projects on page 52 of the Holiday Catalogue, using their layouts as the basis to our creations.
I was inspired by this image because I just love the little gift bags, they are so pretty with the copper embossing and the paper is perfect for taking up ink making them super easy to colour.
I decided to take most of my inspiration from the sponged gift bag, but wanted to make a card instead of a gift bag and in the process I also flipped the layout on its side and went landscape orientation for mine. I also don't celebrate Halloween, and have a friend with a birthday coming up so made a more bright and cheerful card by sponge rollering Bermuda Bay onto the trimmed down gift bag and adding it like DSP to my card base. A little bit of stamping, fussy cutting and layering and I am really happy with the outcome.
I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use the samples on page 52 of the Holiday Catalogue to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.
Time to hop on over and see what Sandra has created this week.
Happy Stamping
Monique
Great use of the gift bag by cutting it down and I love the colour you’ve made it. All of the elements work so well together. Beautiful card
ReplyDeleteOh wow, the ink on the bag looks stunning! What a glorious card! I love the dsp idea and the sentiment is lovely too.
ReplyDeleteMonique, your card is beautiful. I love how you've sponged the gift bag and used it as DSP, very clever.
ReplyDeleteWow, your card is so sweet! The rolled background looks great - what a fabulous used to use the bag as DSP!
ReplyDeleteI wondered what dsp you had used! What a great idea to use the gift bag like that. Such a pretty card.
