Welcome to another Colour INKspiration Challenge, where we usually take some of the Stampin' Up! colours from a beautiful image as our inspiration. However with the colour re-vamp in the current Annual Catalogue, we are using the first challenge of the month to feature one of the colour collections.
For this challenge we are using the colours from the re-vamped Subtles Collection, just choose three (3) of these colours to use in your creation. As usual for our challenges you can add any of the basics (Whisper White, Very Vanilla or Basic Black) to your project.
I am absolutely in love with the new Balmy Blue and thought it would make a lovely pairing with Highland Heather, and what better stamp to use them on than the beautiful dragonfly from Dragonfly Dreams! Keeping with the combo I sponged them onto Whisper White cardstock before cutting out the sentiment.
I spotted a similar card to this on Pinterest some time ago created by the talented Rachel Tessman, and have wanted to try it out since then. This seemed the perfect opportunity to do so, however unlike Rachel who used a lot of DSP, I wanted to keep a more subtle look to the card and used the embossed background, embossed on Very Vanilla and then sponged over in Soft Sea Foam.

The fun of this card is that the dragonfly is actually adhered to the inside panel of the card along the length of the body, allowing the wings to fold up and through the opening cut using the Classic Label Punch - how cool is that! I have left the inside of the card blank, sponging the edges of the card to soften the look.
I hope you are inspired to join us in this challenge, just pick three of the re-vamped subtles collection to use in your project, and add a photo of it to the CI Facebook Page.
Time to hop on over to see which colours have inspired the lovely and talented Juila for this challenge.
Happy Stamping
Monique
