CTC #199 - Country Lane

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where we take a look at one of the sections of a current Stampin' Up! catalogue and use the projects within it to inspire our own creations.

This week we are taking our inspiration from the Country Lane section of the Holiday catalogue, pages 42 - 47.

I was inspired by this image from page 42, I was looking specifically for a sketch that would let me play with my new Follow Your Dreams Bundle, and this one seemed to fit the bill.

I have had my eye on this bundle for some time and finally caved and added it to my last order, which arrived while I was away on holiday so I have been itching to ink it up and get creating. I love all the different looks that you can achieve with the set, and for this card I wanted to have a rustic almost leathery feel to the card so used Cajun Craze and Daffodil Delight as my base colours, the DSP from Share What You Love reminded me a little of stitched or embossed leather.

I wanted the sentiment to stand out a little so off-set the Cajun Craze (spritzed with Champagne Shimmer Paint) with a Basic Back layer. The background was stamped using the small sun image in Versamark to add some subtle texture to the card.

I embossed the dream-catcher with Copper Embossing Powder and used my aqua painter to add colour to the feathers and flowers. I love how the flowers and feathers layer in such a pretty way.  , and wanting to keep a rustic feel used Mango Melody and Cajun Craze to colour the flowers and feathers. The 1/4" Copper Trim makes a pretty but rustic bow to set off the card.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use the samples in the All Is Bright section of the catalogue to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.

Time to hop on over and see what Fi has created this week.

Happy Stamping
Monique
