Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.
This week we are taking our inspiration from the layout of the card on the right hand side of the image above from page 130 of the Annual Catalogue.
I was playing around with my new Forever Greenery DSP and decided to use it for this project. When I looked closely at the original image from the catalogue I realised they had made a frame from the glimmer paper and layered up the outside section, so I decided to do the same. I realised that with the patterns of my DSP the frame showed up better when I turned it upside down so that the images on the frame and the underlying piece did not align. I then heat embossed some of the leaves from the coordinating stamp set and sponged the edges to give it more definition.
The sentiment is one of my favourites at the moment as I am feeling so far away from my extended family at the moment knowing that with travel restrictions I couldn't visit them even if I wanted to. I think I might just send this card to someone special who is far away but very much close to my heart.
I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use the card layout from page 130 of the Annual Catalogue to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.
Time to hop on over and see what Rebecca has created this week.
Happy Stamping
Monique
I love the 3d effect of the frame!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Monique. I love that you’ve turned the frame upside down, it looks great.
ReplyDeleteI love your choice of DSP, this looks beautiful
ReplyDeleteThe frame definitely pops more by turning the DSP upside down. Love how you have embossed o the circle and kept the same colourings.
ReplyDeleteI didn't realise you'd done the same as me and turned the frame, it does make a difference though
ReplyDeleteLove the ideas you’ve shared here Mon.
ReplyDeleteLovely, Monique; that is my favourite design from the Forever Greenery DSP.
