CTC #333 - CASE The Sale-A-Bration Catalogue

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking our inspiration from the projects in the Sale-A-Bration (SAB) Catalogue.

I was inspired by this image from page 9.  I love making tags at Christmas and this one looked like it would be fun to recreate.

I kept the general layout the same as the original but used the sentiment and poinsettias from Merriest moments and the DSP from Tidings of Christmas. While I do like the off-set DSP I am not sure about the sentiment being in line with the DSP and not the tag, what do you think?  This was really easy to make with the tag being 4" x 2.5" and the DSP being 2.5" x 3" (or 2.5" x 6" and cut in half with one piece flipped over). One piece of 6"x6" DSP will make 3 tags which is great when planning a class or just prepping for Christmas. Not that I would make one of these for every gift, but they are big enough to make a pocket in the back for a gift card, or to attach as an element on the front of a card.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use any of the samples in the new Annual Catalogue to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.

CTC #332 - Case Favourite Annual Catty Suite

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking our inspiration from the suites in the Annual Catalogue.

I was inspired by the Hand Penned Suite, in particular this card on page 104 of the Annual Catalogue. I liked the layers and general layout of the card.

Initially this card struck me as being quite "busy" with lots of colours and patterns, so I decided to re-create it using the SAB Beautifully Penned DSP which is in shades of grey and white.  I didn't want to leave colour out completely so chose one of the sheets of DSP from the Hand Penned pack.  I kept the "paper poop" from the die cut floral image and coloured with Stampin' Blends using pale and dark on the larger flower and just pale on the smaller ones.  I found it helpful to keep the pieces from the three flowers in separate piles so they didn't get mixed up.

I really like how this turned out, the only thing I am not sure about is the Matte Black Dots, I can't decide if they should have been pearls, or pearls coloured with Stampin' Blends. What do you think?

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use any of the samples in the new Annual Catalogue to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.

CTC #330 - CASE the Sale-A-Bration Catalogue

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking our inspiration from the new Sale-A-Bration catalogue which went live on 3 August and will be current until the end of September while stocks last.  During Sale-A-Bration you can earn the products in this catalogue with either a $90 or $180 order, depending on whether it is a level 1 or level 2 reward.

I was inspired by this image from page 5 of the SAB catalogue.  I think it was the idea of making a 3D project which I haven't done for a while.

I kept the elements of the project quite similar, with a DSP background and a flag and tag combo. But I did change up the theme and colour scheme so it wasn't a Christmas project, but more summery given the cold cloudy day we had here in Canberra.   I did use SAB Beautifully Penned DSP, adding Granny Apple Green to the base layer and Pale Papaya to the flag. I love how easily these sheets of paper can be coloured to coordinate with any project.  I used Colour and Contour for the flower and leaves and Art Gallery for the sentiment.

You can see from this angle that the project is a cute little bag made from one of our C6 envelopes, I just stuck the envelope closed and then cut off one end at 6" and scored 1/2" on each of the other sides, then folded over the little pieces at the bottom and adhered them in place.   The scalloped edge on the tag was made with one of the frame dies from the Scalloped Contours dies that bundle with Colour and Contours stamp set that I used for the flower and leaves.   I coloured my ribbon with Stampin' Blends to coordinate with the project and topped off with a small gold clip.

CTC #329 - CASE the Mini Catalogue Cover

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking our inspiration from the cover of the new Mini Catalogue which goes 'live' on Monday 2 August. This mini catalogue is formally known as the July to December 2021 Mini Catalogue, but for me it will remain the "Holiday Catalogue" or "Holiday Mini", the other is just too big a mouthful! All that being said it is a great catalogue, and at 80pages including the covers, is far from "mini", it has so many new products and I can't wait for more of our challenges to CASE some of the inside pages.   But for now all we can show is the cover, so the challenge this week is to CASE the project on the front of the catalogue.

The project on the front of the catalogue is actually a new Kraft Gift Box which has a cute little window in the top and is perfect for treats as well as card sets as they fit our C6 envelopes.  I was inspired by the colour and the window of these boxes in my project and used the Merriest Moments Bundle which has a stamp set, dies as well as an embossing folder which makes it so versatile. On my project I have embossed the image onto the front panel and then used one of the coordinating dies to cut the rectangle window in the card and panel.  The sentiment from the bundle is stamped on the inside of the card and can be seen through the window.

The cute poinsettias are also from the bundle and are embellished using new Brushed Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots which can be found on page 55 of the Mini Catalogue, and come in Bronze, Copper and Gold. You can see the lovely embossed section of the card in this picture as well as how the window to the inside of the card looks.  I did think about decorating further inside, however I usually like to write a bit of a longer message in my Christmas cards so left it fairly clear.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use any of the samples in the new Annual Catalogue to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.
