The theme for this month's challenge is Love Is In The Air, so a great one to help get a head start on a Valentine's card for a special someone, or just create to remind someone they are special to you.
I recently received my pre-order of products from the Sale-A-Bration and January to April Mini catalogue so was itching to use these for this challenge. I wanted to use non-traditional colours for a Valentine Day card, and chose one of the pretty plaid patterns featuring shades of blues and greens, I love how this paper looks like it is a fabric with stitching rather than a solid plaid pattern. The hearts, stamped and die cut are from one of the SAB bundles called "Heart Shaped". The use of the centre of the heart die cut shape was inspired by a card someone brought to the last team meeting. The little blue embellishments are also from the Mini Catalogue page 25, Antique Pearls - these are usually a pretty off-white colour so it was easy to add a hint of blue with Stampin' Blends, I think I used the light Night of Navy.
I wanted to add some decoration to the inside of the card so used one of the die cut hearts as a mask and added some Garden Green with my Blending Brush and layered over a strip of the DSP.
