CTC #574 - CASE The Waterside Retreat Suite

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking inspiration from the projects associated with the Waterside Retreat Suite in the current catalogue.

I was inspired by this card from page 21 of the catalogue, I liked the woodgrain background and collection of fussy cut images from the DSP. It was also a great way to use one of the trinkets from this suite which I often forget to do!

I decided to keep the idea of a woodgrain background, however swapped out the one from the Waterside Retreat DSP and instead used this colourful one from Country Woods DSP pack. I then chose the fussy cut images based on what I thought would coordinate with the colours in my background DSP.  I think if I made this card again I would use a blending brush to add just a hint of Crumb Cake behind the fussy cut images to create more of a shadow behind the so they'd pop a little more against the more colourful background.  The card was finished off with a pre-printed sentiment and some sequins and trinket for another No-Stamp card!
