CTC #575 - CASE A Technique

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking inspiration from the many techniques shown in the samples in the current catalogue.  What is a technique? A specific method of creating your project a few examples would be embossing (dry or heat), sponging, tearing, and water or alcohol colouring just to name a few. Still not sure, hop around the design team to see more examples.

I was inspired by this card from page 42 of the current catalogue, it wasn't the colours that drew me in but rather the number of techniques used on the card. I've underlined and bolded the techniques in my version below.

I changed up the colours to use the brighter Costal Cabana, Granny Apple Green and Crumb Cake for my version and love how they work together. I started creating the card by stamping onto the background panel, initially stamping off with the leaf image then the other image in full strength crumb cake.  I used my Aqua Painter to add a light ink splatters to the background, then after it was dry tore the edge of large post-it notes and used them to apply masks and blended colour in uneven strips and intensities in Granny Apple Green.  Deciding that was enough for the background I used die cutting to create the two layers of leaves, adding gold heat embossing to the second layer.  I also used heat embossing in white for the sentiment before fussy cutting out the sentiment and adhering using dimensionals.  I haven't yet decided if my version of the card needs additional embellishments, let me know in the comments what you think.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use any technique in the catalogue to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.

Time to hop on over and see what Judy has created this week.

Happy Stamping
Monique
