Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.
This week we are taking our inspiration from the colours in the Playing With Patterns DSP. You can find this in the Annual Catalogue on page 100 to 102.
I find it helpful to pull out the stamp pads for all the colours in a colour challenge, so here they are all lined up.
I was initially going to create a card using my Forever Fern bundle, but after playing around I couldn't quite make it work. So I reached for my other new bundle Celebrate Sunflowers and am so happy that I did. I wanted to get the feel of a picnic in the outdoors with sunflowers in bloom so tried to replicate a picnic blanket with Buffalo Print background stamp to which I added the Pretty Posy and Coastal Cabana stripes using the tip and side of the brush end of the Stampin' Write Markers. I coloured the leaves and added a little extra Calypso Coral to the petals of the sunflower using Water Colour Pencils. I inked up the sentiment in Coastal Cabana, and then used the Night of Navy Stampin' Write Marker to colour the "celebrate", I really love how versatile our various colouring options are.
I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use the colours of the Playing With Patterns DSP to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.
