Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.
This week we are taking our inspiration from the new Annual Catalogue, for our first hop now that the catalogue is live we are opening the challenge to any project in it! Take your time to have a look through the amazing projects in the catty, and even if you don't have the same products as in the catalogue just use what you have to be inspired by the colours, layout or any other aspect of the project to create your project.
I was inspired by this image from page 99. When a new catalogue comes out one of the things I look for are the smaller projects, or ones that might not be the focal point on a page. you might look at the image above and miss the cute little card in the top right, but this is the one I took my inspiration from.
Even though I didn't have the same products used in the original I did have the new Color & Contour Bundle and thought the fun daisy style flowers would be a great way to replicate it. I also made it in the new Polished Pink and current Highland Heather which are such a bright fun combo. I was so surprised with the frame dies in this bundle as they are all a little different from each other in more than just size, I thought this one had embossed strips down each size, but it actually has full thickness cuts which lets through some of the colours from behind.
Here is the card from another angle which shows the Painted Texture 3D embossing on the background, and catches the light on the cute little In-Color Jewels which add such a fun element to the card. My tip for positioning the flowers is to cut two of the frames, and adhere one to the card where you want the sentiment to be, then layer the flowers around it before adhering the "real" panel over the flowers.
I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use any of the samples in the new Annual Catalogue to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.
Time to hop on over and see what Julia has created this week.
Happy Stamping

YOu're right - the colour combo of the pink and purple is so gorgeous. What a marvellously cheerful card.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love this so much! The colours are so happy! The flowers are the perfect choice for layering behind the sentiment.
