ESAD - Holiday Catalogue Blog Hop

Welcome to another ESAD Bog Hop, this one we are showcasing some of the new products in the Holiday Catalogue which goes live on 4 September.  This catalogue has so many wonderful products for Christmas, Thanksgiving, Halloween and New Years, and I am excited to see what everyone has made for this hop.

I was really quite well behaved in the pre-order and only bought a few products including Gleaming Christmas Bundle, Brightly Gleaming Speciality DSP and 1/2" Classic Weave Ribbon. I decided to make two quite different cards with these products.

My first card I stamped and punched just the little ornaments, one with copper embossing and two with Night of Navy. I did use a copper pen I have in my stash to draw in the "string" for each of them. A small strip of copper foil along side the DSP strip really helps pull out the beautiful copper in the DSP.  For the sentiment I actually cut off the "&" from the sentiment as I will use it slightly far more this way.

My second card has a more regal look with a copper foil frame over some of the subtly patterned DSP.  I then stamped and punched two of the large ornaments, on in Navy and one in Mossy Meadow, then used my aqua painter to add the opposite colour to the details. I love how this turned out and used the same technique to add colour to the small copper embossed ornament.  The sentiment is cut from the 1/2" ribbon, this is such an easy way to add a sentiment with gold embossing to a card!

Well, that's it from me, I hope you are inspired by my projects. I am loving this bundle of products and can't wait to get more Christmas cards made using them. Now its time to hop on over to Maree's blog and see what she has created with the wonderful new products.

  12. Proof that you don't need a heap of products to make beautiful cards! I love how these are quite different to each other even though they use the same suite. Lovely colouring on the ornaments on the second card.
