Social Stamping Blog Hop

Welcome to the Social Stamping Blog Hop, a lovely endeavour started by my stamping buddy Kelly Kent. You can read a bit about why this all started here.  This is the 11th week of the hop, and my second time joining in.  The theme of this hop is New/Normal, which I thought long and hard about what that actually means to me and more so how I could represent it in a craft project.

My project represents new on a couple of fronts, firstly this is a card made with my new products, but really that is too simple.  To me new things are fresh and clean, and so for this project I kept to the Crumb Cake and Whisper White theme, to let the images shine without the distraction of colours.  For this project I used the Forever Gold laser cut Specialty DSP, I just turned the piece so the gold was at the back and used the pristine white side, I love how this looks and fits so well with my project.  I was also very happy to discover that the images from Forever Fern look beautiful as embossed images using White Embossing Powder as they do in ink, they have kept the Distinctive Stamping look.

I chose this sentiment because now is the time, a restrictions are lifted and we enter the "new normal", that we are able to get back to the things we used to do and can now do again, and that the loss of them has given us a new appreciation of them. All a bit deep but I took for granted being able to just hug my daughter when she would come to visit, now I see it as a blessing and each hug means so much more because of the ones we couldn't have.  Let me know if there are any of those things that hold new meaning for you now.

If you started with Kelly's blog post you have come to the end of the hop, but if you started with one of the other talented hoppers, keep on hopping by following the link above to Kelly's blog post and keep going until you get back to where you started.

Happy Stamping

  1. I love the sentiment and thought behind your beautiful card Mon. I too feel so many of the same things and have seen the joy amongst the chaos brought about my COVID. Kelly x

  2. Love that you have kept the colours simple. Lovely card. Totally agree that we will appreciate the little things in life so much more now as we often took them for granted.

  3. This is a classic two tone look-beautiful use of the laser cut pieces and embossing.

  4. Ooo, this is fab, Monique! I just love the white and crumb cake look. Beautiful. And I think it is a very appropriate sentiment for the times we are in.
