CTC 64 - Own Choice SAB

I love Own Choice at CASE-ing the Catty, but I do struggle to pick which project to be inspired from, and this Sale-A-Bration catalogue is so full of great samples!

This card on page 13 of the Sale-A-Bration catalogue caught my eye because it was so fresh and pretty.

Here is my take on the card, I added an Old Olive base card and crumpled the doily behind the sentiment banner.  I chose the sentiment from Choose Happiness because I liked the whimsical font and it is such a nice sentiment to put on a card to give someone for no reason, or as a thank you to someone who has been there for you.

Time to head on over to Jessica's blog, or if you have a project to link up head to the CASE-ing the Catty Blog.

CTC 63 - It's My Party

I just love birthdays, especially when they involve parties, so this week's challenge hop is right up my alley as we are taking inspiration from the It's My Party section of the Occasions Catalogue. This is the pages from 4-7, don't worry if this doesn't seem to be a lot of pages, they are jam packed with inspirational creations.  You don't have to copy a project directly, or even use the same stamp sets or colours, just use the catalogue sample to inspire you.

I have taken inspiration from the card on the right in the above photo, which appears on page 5 of the catalogue.

Here is my card, you can see that I have used the basic sketch but changed up the colours and stamps! I have used the lovely Flowering Fields, one of the Sale-A-Bration stamp sets you can earn for free from now until 31st March with any $90 purchase from the Stampin' Up range, which also includes the retired and weekly specials so you can get a real bargain at this time of year.  I added some Washi Tape, Silver Thread and Faceted Button, as well as a strip of Bohemian DSP.

Time to hop on over to see what Jackie has created

ESAD 2015 Occasions and SAB Blog Hop

Welcome to my creations for the latest ESAD Blog Hop, show-casing products from the new Occasions and Sale-A-Bration Catalogues.  Both of my creations use products from the Botanical Blooms Bundle.

This first one I kept with the colour scheme from the bundle, Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry and Old Olive.  I absolutely love this bundle and the wide range of flowers you can make using it, the depth of colour by sponging the centres of some and edges of other really give them depth.  They are also my favorite new way to use Metal Rimmed Pearls!

Here is my second creation, which you might not think, at first glance has any new products, but if you look closely you will see that the centres of the circles are the centre of the flowers!  I had some bits and pieces lying around on my desk and thought the centres would look cute in circles, so cut first then punched around the cut out image, once that was done I mixed up the colours.  I did have a third one, but it didn't fit well on the card.  I think this would be a great card for a teenage girl, a good girly to grundgey ratio!

Time now to hop on over to Rachel's Blog, then keep following the links until you get back to where you started.

Pocket Sketch Challenge

I liked this cute little sketch from the Pocket Sketch Challenge, even though I did have to adjust my measurements to our metric sizes!
I chose the cute sentiment from the Going Global stamp set and went with the lovely bright and cheerful Real Red to really show it off for Valentine's Day.  I sponged a sheet of Going Places DSP to add some colour to match.  I stamped the background with the cute little heart stamp from the Perpetual Birthday Calendar stamp set.

Up close you can see the red glimmer paper I used for the horizontal strip, and punched a small heart out of it to accent the sentiment.  The heart is from the Owl Builder Punch and is just the right size.

Going Global Father's Day

More new toys arrived for me recently and I had a chance to play with them on the weekend, this sketch from Create with Connie and Mary Challenge inspired my first inking up of one of my new stamp sets.
I also got take the coordinating Embossing Folder out for a spin too, after running a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock through the Big Shot with it I sponged all over it with Soft Suede.  The added strips are from Going Places DSP stack available in the Occasions Catalogue, I like that they overhang the first layer.  The stamped globe and sentiment are from the coordinating Going Global stamp set.  I have to hand it to Stampin' Up! this year, there are some great suites of coordinating products and a number even have coordinating Sale-A-Bration items you can earn for free, like The Sky Is The Limit which I have used recently.

More Botanical Blooms

I saw this sketch at the CASE This Sketch challenge and thought it would indeed be a challenge so decided to stretch myself a little and give it a go.
You know how sometimes you have a gem of an idea in your mind, and then your creativity just flows and you pull it off perfectly? Well this was an experience like that, and it doesn't come often!  It started with the long leaf framelit to cut the vellum into the two pieces, then adding the washi tape to hide the adhesive I used to attach it to the card. The best part about the Vellum is that it is one of the coordinating Sale-A-Bration products that you can earn for free! From there I had to use Blackberry Bliss as one of the flower colours, and I think it contrasts so beautifully with Crushed Curry so I just started to layer the flowers until I got them how I liked them.  I decided to colour the "stem" of the leaf cut out both to highlight it and again to cover some of the use of adhesive.

This is a close up of the flowers to show how I added some of the amazing new Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to add subtle sparkle to the edges of some of the flowers, the photo really doesn't do it justice, it is such a pretty soft shimmer.  Finally I added a metal rimmed pearl to the largest flower and more simple pearls to the smaller flowers. I am so happy with how this card evolved and came together.

CTC 62 - Own Choice SAB

Time for another CASE-ing the Catty Blog Hop, an exciting change in 2016 is that you can join in by uploading a photo of your project to the main blog page and each month an overall winner will be chosen.
This week we are taking inspiration from the whole Sale-A-Bration catalogue, and I have chosen the card on page 17.

I wanted a more neutral card, so went with a combination of Early Espresso and Crumb Cake. If you like the Sky Is The Limit stamp set as much as I do, don't dawdle in popping in your order to earn it from during Sale-A-Bration, as it is only available until 15th February.

Time to hop on over Bronwyn's blog and see what amazing project she has created.

CTC 61 - Occasions Catty Favourite

Welcome back to the first CASE-ing the Catty blog hop for 2016, I hope you have had a lovely festive season.  This blog hop is exciting not just because it is the first of 2016, but also because it is our first hop taking inspiration from the new Occasions Catalogue. As usual Stampin' Up! have packed this catalogue full of wonderful new products as well as lots and lots of samples to take inspiration from.  Because it is a new catalogue we are doing a CASE of our favorite from the whole catalogue.

This is the image from page 26 of the Occasions Catalogue that I took inspiration from, I just loved the look of the decorated bag, but decided to make it into a card instead, wouldn't they make a cute set together! .

I just love the Botanical Bloom bundle, not only do you get the gorgeous framelits and matching stamp set, but you also get the coordinating Designer Series Paper!  For this card I have stamped onto the DSP to give some added depth as well as adding some additional stamping to the tag on the front of the card.  I have also added a bow in Mint Macaron which I think sets it off nicely.

Time to hop on over to Kathryn's blog to see what has inspired her creation, then keep hoping until you get back to where you started. If you would like to join in, just add a link to your project as a comment on the main blog.

Blushing Bride Blooms

I love having time to craft on the weekends and this weekend has been one of those, although you won't get to see a couple of the projects for a while as they are for an upcoming Blog Hop. One I can show you was inspired by this lovely colour combination from Colour Q, I think it was the cute little baby outfit that caught my eye as much as the colours.  I have a relative who has recently given birth to twin baby girls quite prematurely, and they have been on my mind a lot lately. In good new the girls are doing well and are approaching their expected due date and getting stronger and bigger by the day.  Anyway, onto my creation.

As those of you who visit my blog regularly, you will know that I am loving the new Botanical Blooms bundle of products, and again they were my go-to set for this card.  I knew the Blushing Bride and Melon Mambo would go beautifully together, and I have used Pool Party in the past for leaves and I think they work well here.  The sentiment is from the Tin of Cards stamp set and goes perfectly in the space created by the cut out leaf framelit.

Beautiful Botanical Blooms

I hope all my blog visitors have had a lovely Christmas and New Year season, mine was fairly quiet following a holiday away with my family which was amazing. I am sure you will get to see some of it as I start work on scrapbooking the photos and memories.  I don't go back to work until next week so it has given me a little bit of time to get creative and this sketch from Pals Paper Arts caught my eye.

Before I went on holiday I popped in a little pre-order from the new Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalogues and this sketch was the perfect opportunity to try some of them out.  I have used the Botanical Blooms bundle from the occasions catalogue, this is an amazing bundle because it contains stamps, framelits and designer series paper to coordinate!  I have used all on this card, I stamped the Mint Macaron layer with one of the flower and leaf stamps then added the detail for a soft subtle look.  The lovely detail on the leaves is also achieved with one of the stamps. For the feature flower I used two of the flower framelits, and one of the centre framelits layered over each other, which I finished off with a Metal Rimmed Pearl.
