CI #248 - Annual Holiday Twist!

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilse the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week the challenge is to take inspiration from the Annual Catalogue, and re-create it using Holiday Catalogue products. If you don't have products yet from the Holiday Catalogue you have to check it out as there are so many beautiful ones that will make your projects pop!

I didn't have to look far into the catalogue to be inspired by this cute card on page 8, featured as one of the projects in the bundles section of the catalogue.  Did you realise the latest Annual Catalogue has all the bundles right at the front with an easy reference to where in the catalogue you can find them?  SU have also purposefully used different colour themes in this section than in the main catalogue to show how versatile these bundles can be.

As soon as I saw those hot air balloons I knew my new Christmas Gleaming Bundle from page 31 of the Holiday Catalogue would be perfect.  I totally love this bundle, in fact all of the products on page 31!  I initially thought that I wouldn't use another ornament punch but the intricate patterns and the two different sizes in this bundle are just amazing and my favourite thing from the whole catalogue. As you can see I have used a few of the products from the Brightly Gleaming Suite, including the Brightly Gleaming DSP for background and banner, as well as the Hammered Metal Embossing Folder on the main panel, which you can see much better in the next picture.

Keeping with the colour scheme of the DSP I used Pretty Peacock, Night of Navy and Mossy Meadow Blends to colour the ornaments.  The tops I coloured with Dark Crumb Cake and then used a blender pen to add just a little bit of sparkle by dipping it into Champagne Shimmer Paint, which of course doesn't show up well in photographs!

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use the samples in in the Annual Catalogue twist it up by using Holiday Catalogue products in your creation, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.

CTC #246 - Feels Like Frost

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking our inspiration from the gorgeous Feels Like Frost DSP, which is a stunning ethereal photo-realistic set of designer papers perfect for Christmas.

I was inspired by this image from page 40 of the Holiday Catalogue, I liked the simplicity of the card letting the DSP shine.

I decided to keep with the overall layout of the original card, but made my own background with Balmy Blue and Highland Heather, two colours that go so beautifully together, and just perfect for butterflies!  I stamped and embossed the butterflies with White Embossing Powder before adding colour randomly with sponge daubers.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use the Feels Like Frost DSP and projects in the Holiday catalogue that use this beautiful paper to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.

CTC #245 - Let It Snow

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilse the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking our inspiration from the Let it Snow pages of the Holiday Catalogue, pages 18 to 23.

I was inspired by this image from page 22, I haven't yet ordered this stamp set but it is on the list for my next order, the elves are just too cute!

I took a fairly loose interpretation on the original, with a main image layered on a shape, I used the ornaments on the stitched frame which in copper looks amazing in person. Wanting this piece to shine I didn't want to add a large sentiment box so added the ribbon with the copper embossed sentiments, positioning it so that one was a focus.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use the samples in the Let it Snow pages to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.

CTC #244 - CASE A Layout: Holiday Catalogue Cover

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilse the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking our inspiration from the cover of the new Holiday Catalogue! I always love when the CTC has a new catalogue to be inspired by, such an exciting time and with more than a dozen projects on the cover there has to be something there for everyone.  Don't forget, you don't need to use the identical products, just use a layout, or colour scheme to inspire your own project.

I was inspired by this image on the right hand side of the top panel of images.  I like the simplicity of the layout allowing just the DSP and sentiment to shine.

Rather than just making a card, I decided to decorate a Mini Pizza Box instead. Initially I coloured the box using a mix of rubbing alcohol and Night of Navy re-inker, letting it dry well before adding the DSP and sentiment.  I love how the sentiment sits on the Label Punch, I think it just sets it off nicely. Now I just need to decide what to pop inside and who to give it to. I don't yet have the Copper Stamp Pad or I would have stamped around the edge of the box in the pretty lined image from the Christmas Gleaming stamp set.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use the samples on the front of the new Holiday Catalogue to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.
