CTC #358 - Case An Embossed Project

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking our inspiration from all of the current catalogues, including Sale-A-Bration, Mini and Annual Catalogues and choosing a project that uses embossing. This can be any type of embossing so let your creativity run wild.

I was inspired by this image from page 81 of the Mini Catalogue, the section showing the bundles, this one is for the Love & Happiness Bundle.

I decided to use the sketch and instead of the original bundle I chose Art Gallery stamp set and coordinating Floral Gallery Dies. The back panel is embossed using Painted Texture 3D folder to emboss a piece of Basic White and then blend Pale Papaya to create an ombre shading then cutting it into strips.

I added a few Genial Gems to the front, and you can see just peeping through from the inside a piece of the embossed coloured cardstock and a strip of ribbon to add interest to the inside.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use any of the samples in the new Annual Catalogue to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.

Time to hop on over and see what Rebecca has created this week.

CTC #357 - CASE This SAB Sketch

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking our inspiration from the layout of the yellow and pink card on page 6 of the Sale-A-Bration Catalogue.
Here it is in a simplified format, you can change it up a little if you like but use this sketch as your inspiration.

I thought this would be a fun sketch to use my new Awesome Otters stamp set and Simply Marbelous DSP, each of these can be earned for free with a $90 order.  I love how the DSP looks a bit like ripples of water which coordinates well with the little otter swimming with his dinner.  I wasn't sure what sentiment to use and then spotted Biggest Wish and decided to add three Happy's and an overlaid Birthday, I really like how this turned out.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use any of the samples in the new Annual Catalogue to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.

Time to hop on over and see what Sandra has created this week.

CTC #356 - CASE The Heart & Home DSP Colours

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking our inspiration from

Here are the Heart & Home DSP colours. I always find it easier to see them uncluttered from the DSP and before starting my own project for this challenge pulled out each of the ink pads and moved them around until I had an idea of how they worked together. Then I thought how well they would work for flowers and I happened to have just received my new order which included Easter Friends stamp set and I knew the Easter bunny would look cute in Cinnamon Cider.

Here is my finished card, the flowers in the background are from Painted Poppies, one of my all time favourite stamp sets. I coloured these with Pale Papaya and Fresh Freesia using Stampin' Blends after stamping them in Garden Green. I love how our Stampin' Blends can be used to colour any water-based ink. I was going to add the sentiment on a banner, but after creating the blended background I decided to stamp directly onto the card ... always a risk when its the last thing you stamp!  I actually chopped the sentiment in half so that each word could be stamped separately. I know to some people this is unthinkable, so if that's you then you can always use other techniques to stamp the two words separately, by masking or using Stampin' Write Markers.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use any of the samples in the new Annual Catalogue to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.

CTC #355 - CASE the Sale-A-Bration Catalogue

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking our inspiration from the Sale A Bration Catalogue.

This card on page 16/17 of the Sale-A-Bration Catalogue was the inspiration for my project this week.

I haven't done a slimline card for a very long time and so this was a great opportunity to make one.  I love how easy it was to create this with a strip of DSP and sentiment. I was going to do a bleaching technique, but sadly we are out of bleach, so I had to think on my feet!

I decided to add a second layer of gold die cut to the sentiment.  This is the same piece cut from the Eden Garden dies but turned around so that different parts show under the white. Adding a couple of Brushed Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots to it really adds some bling without being too shiny.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use any of the samples in the new Annual Catalogue to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.
