CTC #84 - Love and Sympathy

Welcome to this week's CASE-ing the Catty blog hop for the week, we are making our way through the catalogue one section at a time, and this week we are at the Love & Sympathy section, pages 44 - 55.

Once again there is lots in this section to be inspired by, and I decided to take inspiration from the card on page 49, mostly because it gave me the opportunity to have a play with my new Flourishing Phrases Bundle.

I kept most of the colours the same but decided I wanted a softer green so used the delicate Mint Macaron for the leaves, which when paired with Peekaboo Peach really makes it pop.  The sentiment and base card are another pop of colour with the vibrant Bermuda Bay.

I loved this sketch so much I decided to use it again, this time with This Christmas Specialty DSP. This is a great value pack of papers because you get 24 sheets for just $22.75, that's double the usual amount, and even though the thickness of the paper is not as heavy as the regular DSP it is much sturdier than I was expecting.  I just love the colours and patterns in this set as well.

The flowers from Flourishing Framelits set really made me think of poinsettias so I think it works perfectly with the Christmas theme.  You can see here that I painted each of them with Gold Wink of Stella to make them pop. I also splattered the Gold Wink of Stella on the sentiment panel as well so the whole card has a lovely sparkle to it.

I hope I have inspired you to join in with the challenge, if so follow the link above to add a link to your creation.  If you would like to be part of the CTC Design Team this is your last opportunity, we will be choosing a few new members from all the entries received in June.

Time to hop over to Jackie's blog and see which sample inspired her creation this week.

CTC #83 - Thanks

Time for another CASEing the Catty Blog Hop, and this week we are taking inspiration from the Thanks section of the catalogue (pages 38-43).  I chose the green card on the top left of page 43, and changed up the colours and sentiment.

I have fallen in love with the Floral Boutique DSP and changed the colour scheme of the card so I could use it here.  I chose a sentiment from the lovely Flourishing Phrases stamp set, and added it to a layer of vellum with Copper Embossing Powder.

One of the lovely things about this stamp set is that the sentiments can be used alone or paired up as I have done on this card with this beautiful sentiment on the inside. As this is a sympathy card and I wanted to keep the inside clean and simple, I didn't add any additional stamping to the inside.

We would love you to join in the challenge this week, simply make a project taking inspiration from the Thanks section of the catalogue and link it up to the main blog page here. We chose a top pick from the whole month so don't worry that it is on the birthday challenge page. We are also looking for a few more team members so if you would like to join us just join in this month.

Time to hop on over to Jackie's blog and see which project she was inspired by.

CTC #82 - Christmas

Welcome to another CASEING the Catty blog hop, this week we are taking inspiration from the Christmas section of the Annual Catalogue, pages 26-37.

I chose this 3D project on the top left of page 35 as my inspiration. Even though the Holly Jolly Greetings is a carry over from last catalogue, it is a new one for me so it was an opportunity to ink it up for the first time.

In a moment of shock I realised that I had run out of gold glimmer paper!  How does that even happen?  Not to let that slow me down I decided to use Gold Foil Sheets to make the banner. Sticking with the gold theme I added some "splatter" with my Gold Wink of Stella (a bit messy) the photograph doesn't show the lovely sparkle this adds.

If you would like to join us just choose any of the samples in the Christmas pages of the catalogue and add your project to the main blog June page.

We are looking for a few more crew members, so if you would like to join the CASE-ing the CATTY Crew all you have to do is join in with one or more of our challenges this month, with the successful new crew members announced early in July.  You need to be a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator in the South Pacific region who posts regularly to your blog.

Time to hop on over to see what Rachel has created.

ESAD Blog Hop - 2016 Annual Catalogue

The release of the new Stampin' Up! annual catalogue calls for an ESAD blog hop, and this one is no different. This is a great catalogue and I know you will get lots of inspiration from the blog hop so grab a cuppa and enjoy hopping through all of the creations, just follow the link at the bottom of each post to hop to the next blog.

My first card is made using the Scenic Sayings stamp set, which I have paired with the soft Blooms & Bliss DSP.  The sheet I chose only had blues and neutral colours in it, and I really wanted it to coordinate with the new Sweet Sugarplum I had used to colour in the sentiment, and the ruched ribbon. My solution was to add some Sweet Sugarplum stamping using Swirly Bird stamps, adding the swirly flower to the centre of some fo the flowers and a few of the little dots in between, I did this by just inking up the end of the very dotty stamp in the set, rather than ink the whole image. I have also used the new Layering Ovals Framelits, which have a combination of plain and scalloped ovals that give nice narrow layers.  I have to be honest, I wasn't going to get these framelits but earned some free product with my order and am so happy I did!

My next card uses the lovely Mixed Borders and Designer Tin of Cards stamp sets.  I just love how the flower border stamp and leaf border stamp combine to make a mixed colour border really easy to create.  This fold is known as a double z fold, which is really quite cool, and just perfect for this border set.  I have added a flower from Botanical Builder Framelits and some embossing using the new Floral Affection embossing folder.

My final card for the hop is this one using Layering Love and the cute little cat from Sitting Here, I remember seeing these two stamps used together in a card made by Lydia and knew I wanted to do the same in some way. I used the Layering  Oval Framelits again on this card, and the Dapper Denim Ruched ribbon which is so lovely.

Time to hop on over to see what Cathy has created for you, then keep hopping until you get back to the blog you started on.
