CI #52 - Colours of Nature

Welcome to another Colour INKspiration challenge, where we match Stampin' Up! colours to the ones from an inspiration photo, and use them to create our projects.
This beautiful image has the colours: Early Espresso, Whisper White, Granny Apple Green and Soft Sea Foam. As usual you can also add any of the basic colours (black, white and vanilla).

I decided these colours were perfect for a card using the Rooted in Nature stamp set, The leaves are stamped in Soft Sea Foam and layered with punch outs from Vellum and some of the coordinating twine from the Rooted in Nature Suite. Because I wanted a thin piece of twine, I just unravelled the individual fibres from a piece and used that, a great way to get three different thicknesses from some of our solid twines!  I think the main wood piece creates the perfect focal point for the sentiment.

I hope you are inspired to join in with this challenge, just grab your inks and papers then post a picture of your project to the CI Facebook Page.

Time to hop on over and see what the lovely Julia has created with the colours.

CTC #221 - Needlepoint Nook

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where we take a look at one of the sections of a current Stampin' Up! catalogue and use the projects within it to inspire our own creations.

This week we are taking our inspiration from the Needlepoint Nook section of the Occasions Catalogue, pages 38 - 41.

I was inspired by this image from page 38, I think it was the beautiful piece of DSP on the base that caught my eye when I was flicking through the pages for this challenge and it reminded me a little of the gorgeous new Country Floral Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (TIEF) which arrived on my doorstep just yesterday.

I was being really good and not buying this embossing folder, and then Stampin' Up! announced it would be carrying over into the new catalogue!  Well that was all I needed to hear and couldn't wait to pop in my order to earn it for Free during Sale-A-Bration.

The minute the decision was made I knew one of the first pieces of cardstock I would use with it was the Lovely Lipstick Foil Sheets, also available as a free SAB product.  I was stunned by the resulting embossed panel and knew it would be perfect for my card. Knowing how busy the background was I decided to go monochromatic with this one and chose yet another SAB product the Botanical Butterfly DSP for the decorative panel. I chose this pattern because the swirls on it reminded me a bit of stitching which kept in with the theme of the original card. I added a double layer of Bakers Twine in Whisper White and Basic Black and am really happy with the final result.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use the samples Needlepoint Nook section of the catalogue to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.

CTC #220 - Sale-A-Bration Butterflies

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where we take a look at one of the sections of a current Stampin' Up! catalogue and use the projects within it to inspire our own creations.

This week we are taking our inspiration from the Sale-A-Bration catalogues and flyers.

I was inspired by this image from page 14 of the first release catalogue. It is a bit hard to spot as it's on a page with Memories and More, but I really liked the simplicity of the layout.

I decided to keep the sketch and the butterfly theme, but use mostly products from the SAB catalogues.  The sentiment is from Part of My Story and I have punched that out using the Pretty Label Punch after embossing in white.  The sentiment needed a little something extra so I used a little punched out butterfly, and if you look closely you can see I have added some little pearls to its body and on the sentiment.

I just love the way Highland Heather looks, and was so happy to be able to add some of the pretty SAB ribbon to this project. While this ribbon is no longer available SU have added some of the lovely Rich Razzleberry Velvet Ribbon to the SAB line up which is great as it is so pretty.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use the samples Sale-A-Bration catalogues and flyers to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.

CI #51 - Bright Butterflies

Welcome to another Colour INKspiration challenge, where we match Stampin' Up! colours to the ones from an inspiration photo, and use them to create our projects.

This beautiful image has the colours: Berry Burst, Mango Melody, Highland Heather and Pear Pizzazz, as usual you can also add any of the basic colours (black, white and vanilla).

Seeing these beautiful bright colours I knew I wanted to use the Butterfly Gala Bundle, I think of these butterflies as the "doodle bugs" as the patterns on the stamped images remind me of cute little doodles. I stamped the images then sponged colour onto them before punching out.

This card was all about adding colour, not only to the stamped butterfly images, but also to the two pieces of DSP from the coordinating SAB Botanical Butterfly DSP. I love how this DSP has one side of the papers that are just black and white which allows you to add whatever colour you want to and they will coordinate with any project.

I hope you are inspired to join in with this challenge, as I mentioned at the start of my post you have three weeks to complete this one, so grab your inks and papers then post a picture of your project to the CI Facebook Page.

Time to hop on over and see what the lovely Cathy has created with the colours.
