CTC #572 - CASE A Bundle

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking inspiration from the projects using the stamp and die bundles in the new catalogue, you can find them on pages 36 to 42. There are lots of inspirational images on these pages so I am excited to see what the Design Team and participants create.

I was inspired by this card from page 42, I liked the simplicity of the layout and where I usually am all about symmetry the main elements on my card, this one had the focal panel toward the lower half of the card so I wanted to give that a try.

I decided to use the Waterside Retreat DSP as my starting point and this cut out panel was just perfect, I did trim a little bit off the right hand side. I used the woodgrain piece behind the focal image, and because I wanted to use up scraps, this isn't one panel but rather two small strips, the important thing when doing this is to make sure the pattern lines up!

I cut the other images of the life ring and vest from other sheets of the DSP and finished off with a sentiment from the coordinating Relaxing Waterside stamp set. I love the muted colours on this card it feels so calming.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use the projects in the bundles section of the catalogeu to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.

Time to hop on over and see what the lovely and talented  Julia has created this week.

CTC #571 - CASE The Bloom Boutique Suite

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking inspiration from the Bloom Boutique Suite, pages 16 - 19 of the catalogue. This is such a pretty suite using all of the new incolours!

I was inspired by this card from page 17 of the catalogue, I love the big scalloped circles and floral accents.

I wanted to replicate the layout and bundle used in the original but also to change it up a little with the colour choice and a couple of different techniques.  The first one being that the floral and leaf images are stamped onto DSP using black ink, I love how the variations in the DSP colourings give them such a pretty look.  I also used some White Gel Pen on the edge of the larger scalloped circle to mirror the stitching on the inner layer, and if you look closely I have speckled the base card and the floral images with gel pen also to add some additional highlights and interest.  The ribbon is the Barely Blush ribbon coloured with Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie Blends to give it a variegated appearance to coordinate with the rest of the card.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use the projects in the Bloom Boutique Suite to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.

CTC #570 - CASE The May Online Exclusives

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking inspiration from the May Online Exclusives, you can find them HERE.

I was inspired by this card from the Ouch Bundle, I liked the repetitive background which is quite simple yet very effective.

As I don't have the Ouch Bundle I decided to use papers from the Delicate Dreams DSP collection and sentiment from the coordinating stamp and die bundle. I cut strips of the DSP and then trimmed to size before using my Blending Brushes to add ink around the edges to add some definition.  The flowers are fussy cut from the DSP, although there is a die that will cut these, for the few I used it was just as easy to use my scissors.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use the samples from the May Online Exclusives to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.

CTC #569 - CASE The May to August Catalogue

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking inspiration from any of the projects from the May to August Catalogue. I love searching a brand new catty for inspiration, it is often hard to narrow it down, but given that I grew up living on a yacht it was easy to understand why I was drawn to the Scenic Coast Suite.

I was inspired by these cards from page 27 of the May to August Catalogue. I loved the layout of the card on the left, but also took inspiration from the use of the cut out wave pieces on the card on the right. So decided to combine them for my project this week.

I used the sailing ship die rather than the lighthouse for my card, I absolutely love an image of a ship in full sail with the sunset behind it, and this one is perfect. While this is cut from a sheet of Scenic Coast DSP I wanted the ship to be much darker than the DSP so sponged with Secret Sea, masking the waves along the waterline. The cloud is cut from an offcut piece of the DSP.

Here is a close up of the waves on the card, while the top two are cut as part of the die, the bottom one is one of the cut pieces trimmed down and adhered to the DSP layer, hinting at more of a circle reflection of the sun. I love how this turned out and how easy it was to make a really stunning card using this suite of products.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use any of the projects in the new catalogue to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.

CTC #568 - CASE Your Favourite Annual Catalogue Stamp Set

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking inspiration from our favourite stamp set in the soon to be discontinued Annual Catalogue.  As always its a bitter sweet time coming to the end of a catalogue, and more so this time as this will be our last annual catalogue, as Stampin' Up! transitions to a single catalogue three times a year.

I was inspired by this project from page 53, created with the Gallery Blooms Suite, one which caught my eye the very first time I looked at this catalogue.  I just love this floral spray and I think it and the other floral stamp from this are my most used stamps over the last year so it was an easy choice for this challenge.

I wanted to keep to the original sketch, but made it using a more traditional card base, layered with the leafy paper from Moonlit Flora DSP pack from the new catalogue.  The frame was cut from Natural Hues Textured DSP which adds some lovely texture without any additional embossing.  The sentiment is another from Greetings For All Ephemera Pack which I am so happy is carrying over into the new catalogue, this is such a go-to set of sentiments and would have to be my second favourite product this past year.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use any of the projects in the Annual Catalogue that feature your favourite (or any) stamps to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.

Time to hop on over and see what the very talented Andrea has created this week.
