CTC #278 - CASE Favourite Annual Catalogue Project

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking our inspiration from any project in the Annual Catalogue! That's right any project and there are some really great ones in this catalogue.

Last time I started looking for a project to CASE I found one on page 5, so this time to give the projects further into the catalogue a fair go I started looking from the back and planned to make my way toward the front. Well it didn't take long for me to find this project on page 139, I think it was the floral images and the blue flowers.

I have just received the gorgeous Boho Indigo Product Medley and Blossoms in Bloom  Bundle so have been itching to ink them up. I wanted to see if I could use them together on the same card and it turns out they do look pretty good together! I initially inked up the flowers with Balmy Blue then used a sponge dauber to add Night of Navy to the centres of the flowers.  The sentiment is from the Boho Indigo stamp set and is stamped on one of the lovely tags that come in the Medley, the double layer of gold is so pretty.  I played around with the ribbon behind the sentiment but decided it looked better in a strip instead like the original.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use any of the samples in the Annual Catalogue to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.

Time to hop on over and see what Julia has created this week.

CTC #277 - CASE the Flowers for Every Season DSP Colours

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking our inspiration from the colours of the Flowers For Every Season DSP.

These colours are Magenta Madness, Cinnamon Cider, Bumble Bee, Just Jade and Misty Moonlight. I have to say I love all of these new In-Colours and that the Flowers For Every Season Suite includes all of them, so it seemed perfect to use in my project for this challenge. This suite has two great bundles that work perfectly together, Celebrate Sunflowers and Jar of Flowers.

One of the fun things about the Jar of Flowers bundle is the little shaker domes that coordinate with the punch from the bundle.  Because the card was fairly busy I did not add any pieces but rather chose to back the jar with one of the DSP sheets, I did add the ribbon and bow by cutting small slits on either side of the jar and threading the ribbon through before adhering the front of the card. The ribbon is Crinkled Seam Binding coloured with Magenta Madness Stampin' Blends, I love the pop of bright colour this brings.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use the colours in the Flowers For Every Season, to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.

Time to hop on over and see what Michelle has created this week.

CTC #276 - CASE The Animals (and Birds)

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking our inspiration from the Animals of the Annual Catalogue, so any project that features critters is perfect for this challenge.

Figuring that birds are critters too, I was inspired by these images from page 85 of the Annual Catalogue. One of the things I love about this image is the three versions of the same card, and how they have progressively stepped up.

I also loved the monochromatic look of these cards, so decided not to change much about the original at all in my CASE.  The images are coloured using water colour pencils, these are great for adding soft colours to a project, especially when you don't add any water!  And now we have two sets of colours there is lots of scope for shading and depth of colour.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use any samples from the Annual Catalogue that uses animals (or birds, or fish!) to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.

Time to hop on over and see what Julia has created this week.

CTC #275 - CASE This Catalogue Sketch

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking our inspiration from the layout of the card on the right hand side of the image above from page 130 of the Annual Catalogue.

Here is a simplified look at that sketch.

I was playing around with my new Forever Greenery DSP and decided to use it for this project.  When I looked closely at the original image from the catalogue I realised they had made a frame from the glimmer paper and layered up the outside section, so I decided to do the same.  I realised that with the patterns of my DSP the frame showed up better when I turned it upside down so that the images on the frame and the underlying piece did not align.  I then heat embossed some of the leaves from the coordinating stamp set and sponged the edges to give it more definition.

The sentiment is one of my favourites at the moment as I am feeling so far away from my extended family at the moment knowing that with travel restrictions I couldn't visit them even if I wanted to.  I think I might just send this card to someone special who is far away but very much close to my heart.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use the card layout from page 130 of the Annual Catalogue to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.

Time to hop on over and see what Rebecca has created this week.
