ESAD Holiday Catalogue Blog Hop

Welcome to another ESAD Blog Hop, this hop we are focusing on creating projects using the wonderful new products in the Holiday Catalogue which runs from 5 September 2018 - 2 January 2019.

I wanted to share with you a couple of projects I have made using the super cute Tags & Tidings Bundle. This bundle has only two pieces, one stamp and one Framelit, but these two items stamp and cut 16 different little tags! These little tags can be used individually as little tags or layered together to create more intricate tags. Don't be deceived though, they can also be used to make greeting cards, which is exactly what I am going to show you.

For my first card I stamped the whole image onto Lemon Lime Twist cardstock that I cut down to fit onto the front of one of the new (and gorgeous) Foil Edged Cards & Envelopes. These come in either gold or silver and have matching envelopes as well, so are perfect for mass producing Christmas cards. I then stamped the images again onto Whisper White cardstock using Memento Ink and coloured some of them with Stampin' Blends before cutting the tags out. For the some of the tags I cut off the little loop and then adhered to the card with dimensionals. You could make multiples of this card just using different coloured pieces for each one!

I really really love the little gingerbread man stamp and so decided to use a few of them to make a banner on my card.  What better to pair it with than some of the stunning Joyous Noel Speciality DSP, what makes it speciality you might ask? Well one side of each sheet has beautiful copper foiling embossed into the page, on this sheet you can see some of the leaves are actually copper foil. It adds such richness to any Christmas project.  I used one of the other tags from the stamp to add the Christmas greeting, hand trimming it and then layering it onto Copper Foil cut with the Framelit.

I have a tip for you to use if you need to cut multiple images from the stamp for some reason:

Step 1: Position your stamp on your block, or here I did it on my Stamparatus which makes the whole thing soooo much easier.  Stamp the part of the image you want to use onto a large piece of photocopy paper, and trim out just the image you want to use.

Step 2: Cut a strip of cardstock (I used Whisper White) and position it in the opening and stamp the image. I found using a Stampin' Spot made this whole process so much easier.

Step 3: Slide your strip of cardstock along until you can't see your stamped image. Re-ink and re-stamp your image. Repeat this process until you have filled your strip.  I had to turn mine around at one point as it hit the edge of the Stamparatus.  Don't worry about the smudges, they won't matter as you are going to cut them out with the Framelit anyway.  This was my first attempt and I think I cut too big a piece out from my mask!

Step 4 & 5: Colour each image and then cut the strip into pieces before running through the Big Shot. Sorry there aren't pictures of this step, I was just too excited to get them onto the card!

The Tags & Tidings Bundle is a lot of fun and the possibilities are endless, after you have finished the hop you can check out this video from Stampin' Up! that shows how the bundle goes together and some other projects you can make with it.

Time to hop on over and see what Maree has chosen from the Holiday Catalogue for her creation.
