My project for the hop uses the stamps and dies from the Simply Succulents Bundle, page 39; as well as the stunning Opal Rounds that are part of the Sea & Sand suite on page 41.
I absolutely love succulents and so knew as soon as I saw this bundle that it would be the first thing on my pre-order. These are the succulents we used to decorate the tables at my daughter's engagement party, and they were great inspiration to my colouring of the succulents on my card. The stamp set contains a gorgeous pot as well as four succulent images and four sentiments! The great thing about the coordinating dies is that they include options to cut out all of the succulent and pot images as well as additional succulent shapes and four new stitched label framelits for sentiments. Not only that it also includes a stunning background image which you can see layered behind my focal image.
My project for this hop uses the main succulent image as well as one of the smaller succulents to create a layering effect. I coloured the pot with Stampin' Blends, and the succulents with Water Colour Pencils, I find I get a better colour mix with pencils then run over each section with a Blender Pen. Once coloured I went over the outline for the main succulent in the bunch with a Mint Macaron marker to add more definition to the individual leaves.
I added some colour to the Opal Rounds with a Stampin' Blend to coordinate with my project and love that the sparkle within each round still shows through the colour. I know you are going to be seeing a lot of these on my projects in the coming months they are just so gorgeous and versatile.
I also wanted to share how versatile this bundle is as I used the stamps and dies to help decorate my daughter's engagement party on 29 December which had a bit of a succulent theme as she also loves these cute little plants.
The labels were perfect for identifying the juices on the Pimp My Prosecco Bar ...
And on the sauce bottles that were part of the desert platter. I just printed out the words on Mint Macaron cardstock and cut with the cute label dies in the Bundle and then added to the bottles with Tear n Tape. They stayed on really well even with the concensation on the bottles.
We also covered the side of our shed with hessian so it looked a bit nicer and coordinated with the table runners. There was a section of the shed that didn't have anything to attach the hessian with so we used little clip magnets decorated with one of the individual succulents stamped on Mint Macaron and sponged with Rich Razzleberry.
