CI #31 - Eastern Palace

Welcome to another Colour INKspiration challenge, where we take inspiration from a beautiful photograph and align the main colours with Stampin' Up! colours.
This challenge we are looking at the colours in this stunning photo (my choice) which are:
  • Old Olive
  • Cajun Craze
  • Crushed Curry
  • Tempting Turquoise

I totally loved this colour combo and knew as soon as I saw the photograph that I would have to use the Eastern Palace bundle.  I started by creating the mandala as the central feature, let me say this took a lot of paper piecing, most pf the pieces are cut and put in place using Tombow!  I then had a few attempts at using this piece and finally decided less was more and landscape won over portrait.

I hope you are inspired to join in with this fabulous colour combo, just upload a picture of your project to the CI Facebook Page.

Time to head on over and see what the lovely Rachel has created this week.

CTC #173 - True Gentleman

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop where we take inspiration from projects in the current Stampin' Up! catalogues.

This week we are taking inspiration from the True Gentleman section of the Occasions Catalogue, pages 44 - 51.

I really love this suite of products and haven't used them nearly enough!  I particularly liked the card above from page 44, I think it was the ruffled ribbon that caught my eye ... and that off centre panel!  Those of you who have visited my blog on a regular basis will know that I used to struggle with off-centre, now the images just seem to jump out at me!  Well you know what they say - face your fears!

Now in the Southern Hemisphere it isn't Father's Day until September so I decided to get prepared for Mother's Day instead and turn the sketch into a feminine card.  I used the Delightful Daisy DSP and sentiment from Lots of Happy Card Kit.  I replaced the buttons with rhinestones and used Gold Metalic edged ribbon to mirror the sentiment panel.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use the projects in the True Gentleman section of the Occasions Catalogue, and upload a picture of your creation to the CTC Facebook Page

Time to hop on over to see what the lovely and talented Bronwyn has created this week.

CTC #172 - Myths & Magic

First let me wish you a very Happy Easter, I have had a lovely Easter weekend spending time with family and having time to do some crafting too.

Now on to the CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where we take inspiration from the beautiful samples in the current Stampin' Up! Catalogues to create our projects each week.

This week we are taking a look a the Myths & Magic section of the Occasions Catalogue, pages 36 - 43.  I have a few favourite sets in this catalogue and the Myths & Magic suite is one of them, I totally love the stamped images, Framelits, Glimmer Paper, and the DSP.  This is one suite I will not be selling when it retires.

Despite all the cute images made with this suite, I chose the above card from page 41, I liked it's layout and the more I make them the more cards with an off-centre layer are starting to appeal to me!

I did decided to incorporate the stamps and framelits from Magical Day Bundle, I love how cute these images are!  I coloured both with Stampin' Blends and used DSP from the coordinating pack. The sentiment is from Truly Tailored, I think it looks good as a banner for this card, don't you?

I hope you decided to join in the challenge this week, just create a project inspired by any of the projects in pages 36 - 43, it doesn't matter if you don't have any of these products, simply substitute for what you do have.  Post a picture of your project onto the CTC Facebook Page.

Time to hop on over to see what Peta has created this week.

CI #30 - Pretty Pebbles

Welcome to Colour INKspiration Blog Hop.  Just a quick post from me as the blog hop has gone live and with it being my birthday I totally forgot to come back and write my post ... so just a few words ...
I love this inspiration photo and the beautiful colours within it:
  • Soft Sky
  • Cherry Cobbler
  • Fresh Fig
  • Island Indigo
  • Pumpkin Pie

I decided to use the Petal Passion DSP and colour the white flowers with some of the red based colours from the challenge.  I cut the lattice piece from the DSP to let the Soft Sky layer peek through before adding an Island Indigo lattice piece back in.

I hope you are inspired to join in with this great combo, just add a picture of your project using these colours to the CI Facebook Page.

Time to hop on over to Lou's blog to see what she has created this week.
