I have fallen in love with the colour combo of the Elegant Soiree Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up! Soft Suede, Baja Breeze, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla, beautiful muted colours that are just so pretty. How excited was I when I saw they were the challenge colours for Pals Paper Arts Challenge this week!! I knew exactly what I wanted to make.
I wanted to take some of the tranquility of my crafting to my busy work life so decided to cover a tissue box (the ones work provide are not very attractive) and then a calendar/post it note desk set, and I am now the envy of the office with this on my desk (well the ladies anyway).
I have followed a tutorial for a square tissue box before, but the work ones were not a standard size, so I worked on my own design plan for this. Basically making the base and then a top to the box which is kept in place using Tombow glue (love this product for my 3D items). The Elegant Soiree is just so beautiful, here I have paired it with the Bliss stamp set from Sale-A-Bration, cutting out each of the flowers and adhering with a dot of Tom Bow glue on the sides, and a Dimensional on the top.
Here is a close up of the Bliss stamp and doesn't it fit perfectly in the Silver Hodge Podge. I put a small butterfly from the Butterfly Wings Embosslit onto the brads, and covered each with Crystal Effects and Dazzling Diamonds. I also put a small amount of this in the centre of each flower for a bit of added bling.
This is the Post-It Note Calendar that I made to go with the set, I got the original idea off a friend of mine Kim who designed these. For this one I made the base a little longer to include the pen holder and the "flight of the butterflies" is an image inspired by my dear friend and upline Kasey she continues to inspire me even though she now lives so far away. Speaking of Kasey, she came for a visit to Canberra and popped in with an early birthday gift for me, I will post a pic in the next few days.
OMG!!!Beautiful proyect. Is a very good idea to give teachers also.
