CTC 37 - For Baby

Another week and another CASE-ing the Catty Blog Hop.  This week the design team have hopped along to the "For Baby" section of the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue.

There are some really lovely projects in this section, and I have chosen the card on page 35 for my inspiration. I just love this stamp set. I think it is the simplicity of the cross and the beautiful font used in the sentiments.

I wanted to stay fairly close to the original card layout and elements, but wanted to give it a bit more depth of colour so chose Blackberry Bliss, Bermuda Bay and a touch of Hello Honey.  I think the burlap ribbon and colours make it lean a little more masculine than the original, but with the tiny bit of lace trim showing keep the softness for a special occasion.

Here is a little trick I picked up from somewhere - some of our most lovely products make it difficult to adhere the next layer on top (burlap ribbon and glimmer paper two that come to mind).  Simple solution is to cut a hole just big enough for a dimensional in the tricky layer. By popping the dimensionals into the holes they adhere to the smoother base layer and your top layer will stay in place without anyone ever knowing!

Time to hop on over to the next blog and see what the lovely Elizabeth has created

Happy Stamping
Monique
