CTC #252 - Pretty Halloween

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilse the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking our inspiration from the projects on page 52 of the Holiday Catalogue, using their layouts as the basis to our creations.

I was inspired by this image because I just love the little gift bags, they are so pretty with the copper embossing and the paper is perfect for taking up ink making them super easy to colour.
I decided to take most of my inspiration from the sponged gift bag, but wanted to make a card instead of a gift bag and in the process I also flipped the layout on its side and went landscape orientation for mine.  I also don't celebrate Halloween, and have a friend with a birthday coming up so made a more bright and cheerful card by sponge rollering Bermuda Bay onto the trimmed down gift bag and adding it like DSP to my card base.   A little bit of stamping, fussy cutting and layering and I am really happy with the outcome.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use the samples on page 52 of the Holiday Catalogue to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.

Time to hop on over and see what Sandra has created this week.

CI #66 - Bright and Creative

Welcome to another Colour INKspiration challenge, where we match Stampin' Up! colours to the ones from an inspiration photo, and use them to create our projects.

This beautiful image has the colours: Gorgeous Grape, Coastal Cabana, Poppy Parade, Pineapple Punch, Mint Macaron, and Lovely Lipstick.  Now don't be overwhelmed, you don't have to use all of them, although you can if you like, you can choose any three or more in your project this challenge. As usual you can also add any of the basic colours (black, white and vanilla).

For my project for this challenge I wanted to use all of the colours and knew that Crafting Forever was the perfect set to use with all its lovely paint brushes. Realised that the colours go together to make a bright rainbow of sorts and so used them in that way on the background, using an aqua painter to scribble the ink onto an acetate sheet then pressing my cardstock over the scribbles. I softened the colours by again using the aqua painter to add very watered down versions of the colours over these scribbles.    Wanting to add some mess to the background to better reflect how I do art I splattered some of the colours on the base.

I hope you are inspired to join in with this challenge, as I mentioned at the start of my post you have three weeks to complete this one, so grab your inks and papers then post a picture of your project to the CI Facebook Page.

Time to hop on over and see what the lovely Leonie has created with the colours.

CTC #251 - Brightly Gleaming

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilse the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking our inspiration from the colours in the Brightly Gleaming DSP and the images on page 30.

I was inspired by this image from the top left of the page, I just love the DSP on this card also quite liked the sketch as it would let me create a card with a bit of a surprise.

Instead of using Christmas Gleaming stamp set, I mixed it up and used the cute little elf from #Elfie which is a set that I absolutely adore.  I don't always like cutesy stamp sets but this one is just a bit of fun. I used the colours from the DSP to colour the image, adding some details with a white gel pen.

Now for the surprise ... When you pull on the top of the back banner it reveals a hidden gift card!  The strip of DSP for the banner has been folded over the bottom of the card so that it slips out easily. These days I give a number of gift cards at Christmas and I think this is such a fun way to do so, I also think it would be easily adjusted for other celebrations as well.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use the samples on page 30 of the Holiday Catalogue, and the colours in the Brightly Gleaming DSP inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.

Time to hop on over and see what Lauren has created this week.
