CTC #283 - Colour CASE: Trimming The Town

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking our inspiration from the colours in the Trimming the Town DSP: Misty Moonlight, Pool Party, Old Olive, Poppy Parade

Here are the colours all together.

I decided the two shades of blue would make a great background so sponged both onto one of the gold embossed card fronts from Most Wonderful Time Product Medley to create a sort of night sky. I am so happy with how it turned out with a sort of paler glow coming from the centre of the card.   The tree and presents are from the coordinating stamp set and dies. My tip for these is to get them positioned just right on your Stamparatus, cut a template with the die, and then cut lots of the presents from white cardstock and position in the templates. Since doing this I have used them way more often as I found them a bit difficult to line up ... or maybe I was too picky how the looked!  A little pearl on the top of each present just adds some elegance.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use the colours from the Trimming The Town DSP in your project, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.

Time to hop on over and see what Kathryn has created this week.

CTC #282 - CASE a Mini Catalogue Bundle

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking our inspiration from the Bundles in the mini catalogue, I was inspired by the Warm Hugs projects.

I liked the water colouring behind the sentiment on this card from page 8 of the Mini Catalogue.

I was inspired by the strips of DSP on the original as well as the water colour background, but instead of strips I used this lovely striped DSP from the Most Wonderful Time Product Medley. I still can't believe I missed this medley in last year's catalogue and am so happy it is one of the carry over bundles this year.   Instead of ribbon behind the sentiment I added a die cut from the Painted Labels dies.  A double layer of vellum really helps the sentiment to stand out against the busy background.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use the samples from the bundles in the Mini Catalogue to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.

CTC #280 - CASE the Cover

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking our inspiration from the cover of the new Holiday Mini Catalogue which is now live and available to order from!

I was inspired by this card on the cover, I liked all the layers and wanted to see how it looked using different products.

I was happy to see the gorgeous Brightly Gleaming DSP was carrying over and now it is back on the books I decided to use it on my project this week.  I have kept the sketch the same as the original card, and gone with a mostly monochromatic colour scheme accented by copper. The "ribbon" on my card comes from the same DSP pack, a strip of DSP can often add to a project if you don't have the coordinating ribbon.  The ribbons on the parcels were stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with Copper, however I didn't stamp the second part of the image, just cut them out with the dies, and then coloured using my aqua-painter to get some lovely variation to the colours.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use the samples on the cover of the Holiday Mini Catalogue to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.

CTC #279 - CASE The Sketch On Page 72

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking our inspiration from this pretty card on page 72 of the Annual Catalogue.
Here is the sketch of this card, simplified for this challenge.

Isn't the Boho Indigo Medley stunning?  I have featured a few of the stamps, dies and DSP in this card. There are seven vase shaped dies which coordinate with three of the stamps, or can be used to cut DSP which I have done on the two left hand vases.  The vase on the right is actually cut with one of the smaller dies than it was intended to coordinate with but still lined up well.  The sentiment is from Many Mates and coloured with Stampin' Blends, and punched using Lovely Labels Pick a Punch.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use the sketch from the card on page 72 as the basis for your project, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.
