CTC #438 - CASE All About Autumn Suite

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking inspiration from projects in the All About Autumn Suite.

I was inspired by this card from page 46 of the Mini Catalogue, I realise I am drawn to these shapes recently, and love that we can create them with either dies or punches ... or scissors if you have a good eye!

I have started on my Christmas card stint so you will see a lot of my CASEs reflecting the festive season.  I did want to keep the masking element of the original card, but as I was using DSP for the focal panel I decided to use my mask on the second layer. By adding this slightly smaller layer to the base card of the same colour it adds depth without distraction, which I like as cleaner lines appeal to me at the moment.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use the projects in the All About Autumn Suite to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.

Time to hop on over and see what Katheryn has created this week.

CTC #437 – Case O Holy Night Suite

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking inspiration from the O Holy Night Suite on pages 14-17 of the September to December Mini Catalogue.

I was inspired by this card from page 14, I love the simple layout of this card and the ability to show off different patterns of DSP.  It is also a great card to CASE if you have scraps that need using up!

I kept with the layout of the original but used Joy Of Christmas DSP and Joy Of Noel bundle for the sentiment from the same suite. I cut the three rectangles 3-1/2"x1-7/8", then snipped the corner using the Very Best Trio punch to give more definition to the panels. Do you recognise the ribbon?  It is White 1/2" Iridescent Ribbon coloured with a Dark Cherry Cobbler Blend.

I couldn't resist giving you a close up of the gorgeous Iridescent Ribbon, I love how it keeps the iridescence while adopting the depth of colour of the Dark Cherry Cobbler ink. I also love the detail on the Noel stamp.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use any of the projects in the O Holy Night Suite to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.

Time to hop on over and see what Julia has created this week.

CTC #436 - CASE Projects Featuring "A Walk in the Forest" DSP

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking inspiration from the "A Walk In The Forest" DSP, found on pages 4-5 of the new mini catalogue.

I was inspired by this card from page 4. I used the general sketch of the original but changed up the elements used.

I used  Joy Of Noel bundle for the sentiment, background stamping and sprig of holly and pine; and Christmas Classics bundle for the sprig of just pine leaves. The green panel is one of the subtler sheets from the coordinating Joy of Christmas DSP pack, and to liven it up I dragged my versa-mark ink pad down the panel releasing pressure as I went and then added gold embossing powder.   This sort of replicates the snowflakes on the original card and balances the gold vase.

You can see here a close up of the technique as well as the stamping I did on the card base using Versamark also, but this time not embossed. I love how this gives a subtle darker image that isn't detracting. I also flicked some wink of stella on this layer which gives it a beautiful glitter effect, but as always it doesn't photograph well.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use the samples on pages 4 & 5 of the Mini Catalogue to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.
