CTC #493 - CASE The Sentimental Christmas Suite

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking inspiration from Sentimental Christmas Suite, on page 28 of the Holiday Catalogue. This is such a cute suite and is the "Making A Difference" collection for this catalogue, which means Stampin' Up! will make a $4.25 donation for every DSP or Suite Collection sold.

I was inspired by this card from the suite, I liked the idea of using a plainer version of the focal image as a pattern on the background.

While I kept the Christmas theme of the original, I did mix it up with different DSP and stamp/die bundle.  I used the Season of Green & Gold DSP and lovely Peaceful Evergreens bundle with a sentiment from Peaceful Season stamp set.

The sentiment on the front of the card matches the one I have stamped on the inside, also decorated with a tree and matching DSP.  I added a strip of gold from the Textured Metallic Specialty DSP.   This is a card that would be easy to make in bulk, even using different DSP and stamp combinations, I think I'm going to add it to my card sketch collection!

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use the projects on page 28 to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.

Time to hop on over and see what Judy has created this week.

CTC #492 - CASE An Annual Catty Bundle

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking inspiration from the samples on pages 57 -73 of the Annual Catalogue featuring bundles.

I was inspired by this card from page 61 of the Annual Catalogue featuring the Keeping Tabs bundle.

I have to admit that while I loved the idea of this die, I did not purchase the bundle, but I did want to have a go at recreating the original card using DSP.  I thought the Thoughtful Designs Specialty DSP would be a good option as it has such pretty colours and floral pattern  I used the Peach Pie/Petunia Pop sheet, die cutting strips of the DSP that had the most distinct colour difference.  I didn't like how it looked layered onto either of those two colours, so decided to go with Blackberry Bliss for the base and sentiment panel.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use the projects from pages 57 - 73 to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.

Time to hop on over and see what Rebecca has created this week.

CTC #491 – Case a Sketch from Page 16

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking inspiration from the sketches on page 16 of the mini catalogue, a lot of these appear to be of tags, but even these can be added as an element to the front of a card.  I love that Stampin' Up! are adding sketches to the catalogues to provide additional inspiration.
From the sketches on page 16, I chose the sketch in the first column second from the bottom.

Let me just say I love how my card ended up, though it took some twists and turns to get here!  I was originally going to use the Perennial Postage and Lavender DSP, but instead ended up reaching for Nests of Winter DSP and Spotlight on Nature Dies!  Do your projects ever take a journey in the process?  Let me know in the comments. I really like how lovely this looks and how easy it is to create in bulk (a necessity for Christmas Cards), as there is only stamping of the sentiment.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use the sketches on page 16 of the Holiday Mini Catalogue to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.

Time to hop on over and see what Judy has created this week.

CTC490 – Case Reindeer Days Suite

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page.

This week we are taking inspiration from the  Reindeer Days Suite projects on page 26 of the Holiday Catalogue.

I was inspired by this card from the top right of the page, I have grown to like the off-setting of two panels on a card, which is what made me choose this card.

I used the lovely Nests of Winter DSP, one sheet on the base panel and another to fussy cut out the bird images.  I love how easy having so many beautiful coloured images makes it to create a card. On the Whisper White layer I used the dotty die from Peaceful Evergreens Bundle to make a mask over which I used a Blending Brush to create the soft background in Misty Moonlight.

I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use the projects on the Reindeer Days Suite page 26, to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page.

Time to hop on over and see what Rebecca has created this week.

Card Swap Chain Series 2 - CASEing Cheryl

Back in April we started our second series of the Card Swap Chain, arranged by the lovely Tracy Held. The idea is the we each made a card and sent it to another person in the chain, who would CASE it and send it on to the next person. Once we had all CASEd the card the final version came home to the original creator.  Now its time to share the journeys each of our cards went on with a series of blog hops, where the hop will be in the order of the card's journey.
The chain started with this cute and cuddly card from Cheryl, this is such a cute stamp set and I really loved the way Cheryl added pops of colour.

If you are hopping along you will know that my card is the second one in this chain, so there are lots of similarities with Cheryl's card. I kept with a busy DSP with small flowers for the background and then added bold colours from Mediterranean Blooms Suite for the focal elements, picking up the colours in the mattes.

Time to keep hopping to see how this card was interpreted for the rest of the chain, and if it is still recognisable by the end of the chain.

Card Swap Chain Series 2 - CASEing Carolina

Back in April we started our second series of the Card Swap Chain, arranged by the lovely Tracy Held. The idea is the we each made a card and sent it to another person in the chain, who would CASE it and send it on to the next person. Once we had all CASEd the card the final version came home to the original creator.  Now its time to share the journeys each of our cards went on with a series of blog hops, where the hop will be in the order of the card's journey.

The chain started with this bright and cheerful card from Carolina, I love how she has used the background stamp in one colour then created pops of colours using the spotlight technique.

If you are hopping along you will know that my card is the 3rd one in this chain, and it sticks fairly closely to the original.  I used Mediterranean Blooms Suite to create this one, stamping the citrus images then cutting sections of the coordinating DSP to create my spotlights.

Time to keep hopping to see how my card was interpreted on the rest of this card's journey.
